PF/C Jumpshooting

Mon Apr 18, 2005 12:47 am

Does anybody have a problem with guys like Chris Webber missing way too many 15' jumpers?

I wish they still had the shooting range slider, I think that may help with this.

I've noticed guys like the 90's Karl Malone have this problem as well. I'll drive and draw defenders, kick out to a wide open Malone or Webber, etc (Guys who in real life consistently nail 15-18' jumpers, and I get a whole lot of iron.

Thoughts?

2-3 years ago they used to have a slider for that. I have no clue why they removed it.

I think their shooting sliders are too vague.

Well, you can just raise their 3-point shooting skill, I believe that's what determines what range they've got.

Turn up their medium range shooting slider, that works for me.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the ESPN series? NBA Live has only had sliders the last couple of years (NBA Live 2004 and NBA Live 2005), both of which include midrange jumpshot sliders but no position specific sliders.

I think he means the rating that you could set in the edit player mode.

Ah, the visible Shooting Range rating. Yes, I too would prefer if that were still a visible attribute that could be edited from within the game.

I think if you raise 3-point shooting range goes up. I raised a guy from 15 to 35 once to get his shooting range to go up.

No, that's not it. That only matters for behind the arc shooting. I'm pretty sure.

Correct, since it became a hidden attribute the Three Point rating affects the Shooting Range.
