Download Limewire at download.com.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 3:37 am

You shouldn't even have Kazaa on your PC, it's a piece of junk, I used to have it, it's just crap...

Sun Apr 17, 2005 3:59 am

Kazaa infests your computer with spyware. So does limewire, but not to the same extent I don't think. Either way, downloading is bad mmkay.

Try Shareaza http://www.download.com/Shareaza/3000-2 ... ag=lst-0-1
I don't think it has as big as library as some file-sharing programs, but it's pretty good and no adware/spyware.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 4:22 am

Yup, in the words of BrokenWings; "downloading is bad mmkay."
There is no discusing anything related to illegal downloads, so don't ask for where to get them or how. If anyone knows a program, just PM him with it if you absolutely must.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 4:33 am

I use limewire but I'm thinking about changing because I'm getting too much spyware now.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 4:51 am

Ares - no spyware.

Shareaza rocks. I use that. You can connect to like three different networks (so if people are sharing from Limewire, you can download from them too) + it does torrents as well. Great interface and all.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 5:10 am

All that stuff is illegal even though Shareaza is pretty conveinient to the cheap music bastard like myself.

File sharing programs are not illegal, sharing files you normally have to pay for is illegal. Filesharing programs were originally made for big companies if I remember correct.

True ceekay, although his very question is about how to download music...
It's a borderline I suppose since the actual program isn't illegal (but 99% of its contents is).

I use Soulseek (Y)

Sun Apr 17, 2005 3:15 pm

Soulsek is the best for music. when I first got it I got almost 19GB of music in the first week. About 3GB of that was unusable stuff I either didnt want or had duplicates of, but still, 16GB!!

I use Limewire and eXeem for "other stuff."

Sun Apr 17, 2005 3:37 pm

I use acquisition.

Well, I also used to download with Soulseek, but many of the songs were in some bad azz quality, and I had to wait in a queue for weeks sometimes. In Soulseek you download the album song by song, and when you downloaded half of the album and go offline, you probably won't finish it.

In eMule the good thing is that you download whole albums (some of their qualities are also bad, but the quantity of that is much lower than in Soulseek). There you also use a different downloading system: The more you give, the more you receive. I haven't figured out exactly what that means, but I can clearly see that it's true.
