Any1 have any luck with just building through the draft and instead of making ridiculously lopsided deals to get a superstar???

I don't have the patience to be bad an entire season...It's too tempting to rip off the computer with 2 for 1 trades. The result is that I've never even been in the lottery. Damn, for all the nice things I've heard about the draft, I always end up with a lousy bench-warmer.

It's hard because the draft is so random.

I've had several "very strong" drafts with nobody useable in the top10, except for lottery teams. They'll have very random attributes, like a rated 70 rookie ( great!) but he's 6'1" with 40s in his FG/3P and Dribbling but 80s in his Inside Scoring and Offensive Rebound (crap).

Just this last draft, in the top15 was a Center that was 6'8", and no ability above 60.

But other times i've seen "Average" or "Strong" drafts with killer rookies, just because their high scores are in the right attributes.

Someone mention they had never been in the lottery. If you put the gameplay settings right, you can beat anybody with the worst team... its extremely easy to win in NBA live... no challenge there.

As for me, I am in the third season of a new dynasty and I have yet to have a winning season. My team should be in the top 10 but we struggle in the bottom 10... of course I could change the gameplay settings and win every game... but then where's the fun?!

As for draft, I drafted a 19 yr old 1st overall pick 6'7 PF, he is now 20 and is in his 2nd season. He is now 71 rating, and he plays SF. He gets 18ppg and 8rpg. And he was from a very weak draft. My 31st pick of the same draft is now rated 65. I also have a 8th overall pick in his rookie season who is 61 rated - highest rated in his class with no additional training other than pre-season training.

The main point about draft is this: Excellent and Good potential generally grow into superstars while the rest don't. Often I don't even scout the low potential players as they won't grow enough.
