This is my Golden State Warriors dynasty for NBA Live 05. Im going to see if I can turn the Warriors around like Baron Davis did when he was traded their from New Orleans. My rosters are updated as of April 9, 2005 and I put Ron Artest on IL because of the brawl, put Richard Jefferson on IL in New Jersey because he is out for the season. All information is below and the first few posts are the main posts where everything will be updated and all the recaps and stuff will be in the other posts.

I will probably play half my games and intervene in the 4th quarter in the other half of my games.

He just wants to reserve some space for himself to put it on later on so when you go to the first page of the dynasty you can find the different awards and stuff a lot easier I'm guessing.

10/28/04: Warriors top Hawks for first win

Golden State 108, Atlanta 100 | Top Performers

Golden State - Baron Davis
Image
39 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists

Atlanta - Pedrag Drobnjak
Image
16 points, 20 rebounds, 1 steal

Image
Davis had a double-double with 39 points and 10 assists

The Warriors almost led a big lead slip away during the end of the game. Golden State was up by 28 points at the hald, and the Hawks got to within 4 points in the 4th quarter. But Baron Davis wasnt going to let them. Davis finished with a double-double and led the team with 39 points and 10 assists. Davis was one of 3 Warriors to have a double-double. Adonal Foyle scored 15 rebounds and grabbed 15 boards, and Troy Murphy also scored 15 points and grabbed 11 boards.

Jason Richardson injured his arm early in the 3rd quarter but soon returned after resting. Richardson played only 17 minutes and finished with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Mickael Pietrus filled in for Richardson and went 3 of 3 from the field, scoring 8 points and had 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Backup PG Derek Fisher saw only 9 minutes of action and was scoreless but had 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Fisher will be getting used to seeing less minutes because Baron Davis is one of those people who is able to play most of the game. Fisher spoke with ESPNews after the game and he said this to say:

Image "I was informed before the season by Coach Montgomery that I would be in a backup role behind and might not be seeing much minutes. I would like to play a lot but I told him that I was fine with it. If he thinks it will help our team, then I'm good. I've gotten to know Baron pretty well and fine backing up a guy like him. Obviously he is going to help our team a lot.

The Warriors survived a late comeback attempt by Atlanta, with the Hawks coming with 4 points after being down by 28 at the half. But everytime the Hawks scored, Golden State came right back. The Warriors had 65 first half points. Both teams had 58 rebounds a piece. Golden State shot 44% from the field while Atlanta shot 40%. The Warriors did a good job and passing and sharing the ball. The Hawks totaled only 9 assists for the whole team while the Warriors had 24, led by B. Diddy with 10 dimes.

Image
Al Harrington also had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds

Point Guard Tyronne Lue led the Hawks in scoring with 24 points and also had 3 assists. The Hawks started playing a lot better in the second half and, as mentioned before, came within 4 after being down by 28 at the hald. Pedrag Drobnjak had a game high 20 rebounds and scored 16 points. The Hawks are 0-1 in the season opener and despite the loss of their big scorer Antoine Walker, hope to at least make the playoffs this season. Al Harrington, and rookies Josh Childress and Josh Smith all three had 12 points. Harrington grabbed 13 boards and had 2 steals. Smith and Childress each had 1 block and combined for 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Hawks host the Utah Jazz at home on November 2nd and the Warriors go on the road to face Vince Carter and the Nets on November 1st.

Injury Update

Warriors Guard Jason Richardon has sustained a sore thumb. He will still be available for game action but his performance will probably be affected by his injury. Coach Mike Montgomery has said Richardson will travel and start in the game against New Jersey on Monday November 1st. It is not known how much game action he will see.

11/01/04: B. Diddy triple-doubles, but Warriors lose

Golden State 94, New Jersey 103 | Top Performers

Golden State - Baron Davis
Image
26 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists

New Jersey - Vince Carter
Image
27 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal

Image
Vinsanity led the Nets past Golden State with 27 points

Baron Davis recorded a triple-double in the Warriors second game of the season with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists, but it wasnt enough to hold off the Nets. The Warriors got off to a rough start but came back a few times. But each time, they let the lead slip away. There was many lead changes through out the game but New Jersey had the game in hand near the end. Jason Richardson seemed to be slowed down by his thumb injury, scoring only 6 points, plus 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Troy Murphy had 15 rebounds for the second straight game and also had 9 points and 1 block. Adonal Foyle had his 2nd straight double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, plus 1 block.

Mike Dunleavy really wasnt much of a factor in this game and has gotten off to a slow start this season. He scored only 3 points in this game and had 2 assists and 1 rebound. Derek Fisher saw only 7 minutes of action while scoring 3 points plus 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Rodney White had a decent game off the bench, scoring 13 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Andris Biedrins also had a good game, grabbing 14 rebounds and scoring 7 points.

Image
Jason Kidd shoots over Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Jason Kidd got into foul trouble early, but for some reason didnt play much the whole game. Kidd saw only 15 minutes of playing time, finishing with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Kidd had 3 personal fouls during the game. Vince Carter led New Jersey in scoring with 27 points. Rafael Araujo had a good game off the bench. He was 2nd in scoring with 20 points and also had 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Nenad Krstic scored only 5 points but had 11 rebounds and Jason Collins had only 2 points and led the Nets with 14 rebounds. Cliff Robinson was scoreless in 7 minutes of action but grabbed 7 boards. The Nets win their season opener and the Warriors dropped to 1-1 on the season. Both teams shot below 40% from the field and once again Baron Davis had more assist than the opponent combined. Despite out-rebounding New Jersey 64-57 and dishing out more dimes (GS had 21 and NJ had 8), the Warriors fell to the Nets. Golden State also shot better from the charity stripe. They shot 94% while New Jersey shot only 74%.

The Warriors go back home to the Arena in Oakland to host Amare Stoudimire and the Phoenix Suns (1-0). Phoenix defeated Memphis 77-71 on a few days ago on October 29.

Injury Update

Jason Richardson's thumb injury should be fully healed before the Warriors game against Phoenix Saturday. He said the injury has cause some problems with his shooting and dunking a little bit, but should be fine in the next game.

Memphis Grizzlies PG Earl Watson is still recovering from a sore achilles tendon and said he should be fully recovered in a day or 2. He is not expected to miss any games.

The Warriors trailed most of the game but took the lead 74-72 with about 6 minutes left in the 3rd. The Suns then went on a ridiculous 20-0 run to end the 3rd quarter. Despite being blown out by Phoenix, Golden State shot better from the field, but shot worse from downtown. Payton and Fisher go head to head

Payton and Fisher were teammates in LA last season

Derek Fisher and Gary Payton faced eachother for the first time on different teams since being teammates and reaching the NBA Finals last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Payton scored 13 points with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Fisher, in a backup role, scored 9 points and had 3 rebounds and 2 assists. He entered the 1st quarter with 4 minutes left and scored all of his 9 points in that period, including 1 3 pointer. The Warriors found themselves with a big lead most of the game, but Boston kept cutting the lead in the 3rd quarter. Golden State then responded with a 8-0, with Baron Davis scoring 6 of the 8 points. Mike Dunleavy was scorless in the first half, but had 8 rebounds and 4 points in the 2nd half beofre hurting his back with 7:17 left in the 4th. He was going up for a shot when he hurt it, Mickael Pietrus entered the game for him to shoot from the charity striple. It was later learned the injury was not serious but Dunleavy didnt return. Coach Montgomery said he will play next friday in Philadelphia against the 76ers.

The Celtics got to within 7 in the 4th quarter when the score was 107-100. Time was running out for them and intentional fouling wasn't working go the Warriors escaped with a 7 points victory. Baron Davis led the team with 23 points and had 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Jason Richardson scored 22 points and had 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Andris Biedrins had 4 points and 8 rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench and Nikoloz Tskitishvili 8 points, 6 rebounds and a steal in 12 minutes off the bench. The warriors were up 7 after the first quarter and started the 2nd quarter with all bench players. The Golden State bench did an excellent job keeping the lead secure for the Warriors, as they led by as many as 17 with all the reserves still out on the floor. The bench played the first 6:11 of the 2nd quarter and scored 22 points while shooting 53% from the field, until Coach Montgomery put some of his starters back in with 3:49 left in the 2nd.

The Warriors seemed to start letting the lead slip away when the starters came back in, as the 76ers got to within 2 with 32 seconds left in the first half after being down by 17, but the Warriors led 68-65 at the half. The game seemed to be destined to be a high scoring one as the Warriors led 100-94 after the 3rd quarter. The 76ers finally tied it up 106-106 with 7:18 left in the 4th. then they took the lead 111-110 with a Kyle Korver 3 pointer with 6:08 left in regulation.
