Who should be my backup?

Sun Apr 10, 2005 5:59 am

Well I got question, I got Kyle Korver starting because I want spot up shooter but for backup I have Scott Padgett and Glenn Robinson, who should I have as backup? both are basically giving me the same, Im thinkin of either releasing Glenn and have Scott as backup cuz he is younger or should I go out and trade for backup SF...give me some thoughts here, thanks

Padgett is a pretty good player and a good shooter, and Robinson is a skilled player, but getting old. I would say keep Padgett if you want to keep him for a long time. If this roster is temperary then keep.....Padgett... yea Robinson is no good..... he's rating is gonna keep going down and down.

If you only need one backup, you should trade them both for someone better (if anyone wants them... )

yea, I am thinkin of someone to trade for but not sure, looking for someone young with overall ability, I am willing to trade 3 guys for 1 or work something out because I have other players that I dont use, trying to think of someone because I am looking for help for my main guys, T-mac and Yao, they do most the scoring and its not working out, I won 4 games and lost 3 already, and I try to keep my game realistic which it is right now

I'd keep Padgett and get rid of Robinson, they're both not great but at least Padgett can hit the 3 more consistently.

start Big Dog and have Korver as backup or vice-versa depending on what you need in your starting lineup....

I find Scott Padgett is cheesey in all Lives  (N) so get rid of him at all costs

Id drop the big Dog quick! stick with Padgett if he's playing well if not why not trade him for like Jumaine Jones, good shooter nice rebounder.. cant lose!

i can't remember how much those two are getting paid, but if you want a SF, i loved using Eddie Jones, who can steal, shoot, and prett fast. Though he does have a big contract. Or you can try Keith Van Horn. Great shooter, he's also tall for this position,
he can rebund better than a lot of other SFs...

And also has a huge contract. Mickael Pietrus is good. (Y)

try to get the great white shark...Keith Van Horn... (Y)

Try Al Jefferson or Reggie Evans, they are 6'8 and can play SF or if you need, PF. Plus they are young...

Padgett is a great backup, KVH with that kind of contract needs to be a starter to be worth it.

Check out Radmanovic. He's 6'10", FG & 3P in the 80s. 25 yrs old. But he's definitely a spot up shooter or needs a screen, because he can't dribble well enough to break down a defender and free himself for his own shot. He's murder on the pick & roll, however.

Mike Miller & Sean Battier can also shoot well but have better dribbling & speed, more like a true SF/SG.

I've also had some other great spot up shooters in Walter McCarty & Jimi Jackson, but these guys are in their 30s.

Pietrus got a raw deal in his stats, he's a great shooter but has the handles and speed of a Center. Not sure how EA thought such an athletic guy would be so slow.

I'd go for Josh Childress, no one can stop him when he's driving to the basket, and he can play shooting guard as well as small forward.

if u want someone at good value can shoot anythin g open is teh the fastest at his position go for jarvis hayes. he is cheap and when u start to use him u will probably up grade him to the starting live up. his is about 64 so a 2 for 1 is possible.

he is one of the best trades to get
