Remove Ben's wristbands?

Postby PDawgMcUssy on Sun Apr 03, 2005 2:56 pm

With my extremely limited knowledge of DBF editing, I went in and tried to remove Ben Wallace's blue wristbands. I succeded in making the wristbands editable, but the blue ones are still there underneath. I even tried disabling his uneditable forearm tattoos, but that also didn't work.

How can I get them to go away? Are they permanently grafted onto his skin?

I'm not sure if they're in the main skin files for each player this year, but in previous years you could simply change the gear value from -1 to 0, removing the player specific tattoos or bands and allowing you to select new ones.

I've tried that in every appearance.dbf I could find; every origdb, etc. that had it I changed the wristbands and forearm tattoos from -1 to 0.

Since this hasn't worked, I'm led to believe that the tattoo is primarily affected by players/plyrtat.viv - which I can't edit with EAGE or VIVMAGIC, and when I extract the BEWALLA file, EAGE, fshed, etc. won't open it.

Any other ideas? :(

This ended up being true, but luckily for myself, I'm a genius, and so I realized that if I couldn't delete the custom tats from the viv file, I could extract all of the BEWALLA files except for them and rename them BNWALLA.

I'm not sure to have understand everything, you've said if I've correctly understood, that you have extracted the tats and edited it ?

no he extracted everything but the tats file and renamed them and also renamed in dbf so that when ben wallace is shown in game his tat file wont be read, only what was renamed
