Legends and/or All-Decade Players?

Postby sahedad on Fri Apr 01, 2005 12:56 pm

I am looking for a list of players who have been in past NBA Live's as either legends, or that were on the all-decade teams that were not in this years game. Below is the list that I have come up with, does anybody know of any more?

Andrew Phillip
Bill Laimbeer
Calvin Murphy
Charles Barkley
David Robinson
David Thompson
Elvin Hayes
George Mikan
Hakeem Olajuwon
Jerry West
John Stockton
Larry Costello
Michael Jordan
Mitch Richmond
Patrick Ewing
Shawn Kemp

PS
I forgot that I have seen on this board that it is capable of unlocking Dee Brown and Larry Nance for this years game by editing the players .dbf file.

Is this true? I could really use the stats from these two

It's true. Basically all you need to do is locate them in players.dbf and change their TEAM value from 38 to 40.

Do you happen to know the stats for them? I only have the PS2 version, and I would like to create them exactly how EA had them

Not offhand, but they show up in the text version of the NLSC roster update, which you find in the Downloads section.

Why are they included in the game when they aren't playable?? Are they unlockable or something (I have the PS2 version, so if they were unlockable I wouldn't have to create them myself)?

They're judges in the dunk contest, I guess playable versions of those guys were left in the game as Easter Eggs.

Not as far as I know - no codes for missing players have been released. Seems these guys were just Easter Eggs in the PC version.

I'll go a step further and say Dee Brown and Larry Nance weren't even ment as easter eggs, both were ment only as judges for the dunk compatition. on the other hand though, i haven't found the recent liknesses of Drexler, Dr J, Kareem, et al, in the players database.

I'm usualy a big critic of EA's player ratings anyway, but any one else think that Brown and Nance's ratings have no basis in reality whatsoever, I have to assume they weren't ment to be unlocked. then again, look at the sick joke that is the official version of Jabbar.

Their ratings are somewhat off, I agree - by default, neither of them can actually participate in the dunk contest.

Yes, Dee Brown and Nance are in the Referre team, so you could transfer them to a real team using Diego's NBA Live Editor, or by DBF editing.
