His album Labor Days is a solidified classic, don't care what anyone else says.

And if anyone wants it, just PM me.

New reviews at Hip Hop Cartel, Critical Breakdown section include Will Smith's new album and a review of the classic Mos Def & Talib Kweli Blackstar.

These four men have spanned through four decades and I feel as if the younger generation of listeners isn't able to appreciate them as much as they should be appreciated.

I like Red Hot Chilli Peppers too, you can't be 'under the bridge' awesome song.

Tear jerker is another my personal favourites, since it was written about Kurt. :(

That one wasn't John Frusciante, and he was better. Too bad he's dead...

Simple: Anthony Kiedis can't carry a tune live... The other 3 are awesome.

John Frusciante isn't dead. Or were you talking about Hillel Slovak?

Ack?! Greatest guitarists without mentioning Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez, Vai and Buckethead?

Shame on you. ;)

A few bands really worth looking in to that is blasting at my place are:

Fibes, Oh, Fibes! (mellow, but good)
Peeping Tom
Secret Chiefs 3
Madrugada
Totalt Jävla Mörker
and as always Birdflesh

I've nveer heard of Omar...

Steve Vai (Y) agreed on that, he's got crazy guitar chops.
Buckethead is a great technical player, and has one of the great gimmicks. It was hardly a surprise to see him leave Guns N' roses after being fed up with Axl and the 12 year delay of 'Chinese Democracy" .(N)

i feel a little dissapointed with not a lot of mentioning hendrix in a rock thread.

some of my favorites are.
the doors
jimmy hendrix
the animals
led zepplin
the beatles
eric clapton
petter frapton
the eagles

my mistake if any of the names are spelled wrong.

Never heard of Omar? Then you've got a lot of great music ahead of you.

His solo-album A Manual Dexterity Soundtrack Vol.3 is ...excellent. Just brilliant. The kind of mouthwatering skills that Hendrix had, only not as ...far out there all the time.

And of course, The Mars Volta. Two albums released and those are De-Loused In The Comatorium and Frances The Mute. Both are 10/10 if you ask me, but if I could I'd give Frances 12/10 just because it's so enourmously mindblowing creative.

Oddly, I was reading about that new Mars Volta album in a guitar mag yesterday on my way home from work. THey said it was like listening to alien music or something. That it was totally groundbraking music.

Atm i'm trying to get the Pantera Backcatalog....

Yeah, groundbreaking is a word you could use. It's brilliance in a box (or rather on a CD).

Pantera never did it for me, don't know why. But then I never got into GnR either.
