I doubt Denver will trade Melo. At least Geroge Karl is starting to like him a little bit more!

I'm hoping they'll show at least one Bulls game, maybe a couple more (dare I say it?) if they advance to the second round.

Jinx! Andrew has spoken. Chicago loses all of their remaining games and misses the Playoffs again (j/k) :P

Seconded.

Normally I'd be worrying about that, but Grant Hill is still standing and the Bulls are still doing alright. It appears that all of my jinxes before were flukes...or worked only against the Lakers.

94-86 victory over Boston today, concluding the season series with a 2-2 tie. Considering they were without Hinrich, perhaps they've got a shot if they end up facing Boston in the first round, if not to advance then certainly to take a couple from the Celtics.

But if the playoffs started tomorrow, the Bulls wouldn't face the Celtics. Their four game winning streak has pushed them to the fifth seed, which would have them matched up with the Wizards. And they're just 5 wins away from assuring at least a .500 finish.

The Celt has lost 2 straight, and Detroit is on a 3-game losing streak. Things look promising for the young Bulls.

i think ricky davis will get the 6th man of the year award. but man, can this guy make some bonehead plays. sometimes more frequently then a rookie.

bulls 2-0 without hinrich ;)

kirk's injury doesn't seem to be getting any better, which puts the team in a bind. skiles is pushing for homecourt advantage and the team has 4 games in 6 days. i would prefer just to sit hinrich at least until the point where he isn't a game time decision anymore.

better to have a healthy hinrich and no homecourt then a gimpy one with homecourt ad

"Chicago (37-31) moved within one-half game of Washington for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage in the opening round of the playoffs. "

OMG who would've thought Chicago would be in this position before the season started?

Highlights of the game are Curry's 27 points and once again Gordon shinning in the 4th quarter and finishing with 20 points. Gordon is such a special player, I'm so glad the Bulls picked him.

They're one day apart and on different subjects, which the rules allow for. But you can always report me to the admin. ;)

Another five game winning streak and a firmer grip of that fifth spot, not to mention being half a game back of Washington for the fourth seed.

G who would've thought Chicago would be in this position before the season started?

I'd like to say that I did, but I wasn't all that confident especially after the 0-9 start. I thought they'd get 30 something wins and contend for the 8th spot. I'm really surprised with how well they've done this season, winning games they are capable of winning and even a few you wouldn't expect them to win, not to mention the winning streaks and their ability to bounce back, first from 0-9 and then from skids here and there.

Even after they cracked the top eight, I wasn't seriously thinking playoffs straight away. After all, better teams have led their division as late as February or March and ended up missing the playoffs. But what the Bulls have done this season is really something to be proud of. I don't think they'll embarrass themselves in the postseason if/when they make it. They'll have already accomplished a lot simply by getting there in the first place, and this doesn't seem like a team that's just going to show up as a distraction. A lack of playoff experience might get to them in the end but I can see them causing a little trouble for their opponent...or opponents. :P

seriously- hinrich's best position is point guard. when he matches up with SG, his offense suffers and he wears down from bigger guards. at the point, duhon provides just as much grittiness, heart, defense, and offensive awareness (maybe even more) as kirk.

the bulls won't ever reach the next level if hinrich is their best player and/or is the SG. chicago definitely would definitely get a stud SG/SF in return if they traded kirk

Getting back to this for a moment, I'm not quite as against trading Hinrich as I was this past offseason, but I'd still like to see Gordon progress a little more and how far the Bulls can go and how well they can play with Hinrich first. But it seems that Hinrich could very well become expendable down the road and if he can be dealt for a good swingman at that time, it wouldn't upset me to see the Bulls make that deal.

yeah, melo wouldnt fit in skiles' offense. simply because he's got too much ego and melo has become too much of a me-first attitude (kobesque FG%). luol deng at 2 or melo at 2 wouldn't seem good to me (assuming we weren't to give up deng).

imo, bulls should get a great role player at shooting guard. i think the starting 5 is set with gordon slowly earning the starting 2 spot. i don wanna see us getting a 2 guard in the off-season becuase i'm afraid it will affect the development of deng/gordon.

haha i'm not a melo hater. i just don't think a player like him is a good fit for the team.

but the other player you mentioned, joe johnson.. that's the type of player the bulls need, i'd welcome that addition. he can shoot, slash, and occasionally handle the point guard duties. and he's versatile enough to play SF as well.

Sixth straight win, this one at the Grizzlies' expense. The Wizards have won their last two though, so they remain ahead.

I love the way Curry has been playing for the past 2 games. Gordon is a monster off the bench and Deng is back now! :D

I just can't wait to see them back in the playoff!!!

coincidentally curry is having these great games with hinrich out. duhon is now showing he can run the team while playing big minutes. also skiles has applauded how the bulls guards are doing a better job of getting curry the ball in the post

OMG!!!! I'm starting to love the bulls more and more 8 straight wins now! beating the Bobcats tonight 102-99

Just some highlights:
Gordon played 23 minutes and scored 35 points  6/8 3PT
Chandler grabbed 15 rebounds
Okafor only got 17 points and 10 rebs

I noticed that the Bulls' bench played more minutes than all their starters (Y)
and I think with 35 points by Gordon he is more ahead in the points department, in the roookie class of course :D

Oh by the way once again the Bulls came from behind in the 4th Quarter thanks to who else? Gordon, the Rookie of the Year according to one of the Greats, Scottie Pippen.

Actually it's a season-high tying 7 in a row, they go for 8 in a row against Cleveland tomorrow. ;)

Simply awesome game by Gordon. I was watching the live scores and almost everything for the Bulls in the last six minutes had his name on it. 22 points in the fourth quarter including Chicago's last 16...I'm starting to think he's got a real good shot at ROY. Not that I didn't think he was worthy before, but I assumed he would get snubbed. I think the media will really have to give him some consideration when they cast their votes.

I also caught a couple of fourth quarter highlights during a timeout in the Suns/Sixers game they're showing here today. Some of those shots were simply incredible especially the ones over Brezec (but where was the foul on that one from the top of the key?).

Two more wins to the guaranteed .500 finish, which means the next win will be their 40th. 45-37 looks possible, 51-31 is still mathematically possible; now that would be something, though I think around 45 wins is more likely.

Alright 8th straight win :) nice job by the Bulls and once again Gordon shining like always with 21 points.

Off topic - I didn't know Ben was so good until recently, so I took it upon myself to find out more about Ben before he got drafted and this is what I found in www.nbadraft.net

"NBA Comparison: Joe Dumars

Ben is the epitome of a combo guard. He is an excellent scorer, but also has the ability to find open teammates. He can create for himself, or create for others. Ben's unbelievable athletic ability has made him an explosive penetrator and a good rebounder...Ben is also a good ball handler, a great passer and is always aware of his teammates. He seems to always be in control and rarely loses his composure on the court….nor does he take poor shots...Quite simply he can do things with the ball that others cannot. A very good prospect.

Weaknesses: Because of his small stature Ben will have to play the PG in the NBA. So he needs to improve his Assist to Turnover ratio and concentrate on passing more. Although proficient at the point, Ben is a natural scorer and that could cause problems down the road...Off the court issues could scare some teams away as well Notes: Was a four year varsity player at Mount Vernon where he broke the school record for career points....His game has really developed since he’s started college. Should turn out to be a nice player.

-Savneet Singh"

I'm foreseeing tremendous success for the Bulls as long as they keep Gordon on their roster.

I thought the game was won at 88-85, and was worried that they might lose momentum in the overtime after LeBron's heroics having already squandered a late lead. So what do they do? Score the first 11 points in OT, of course. 40 wins on the year, if they can win at least five or six of their last 11 they'll be in good shape to keep that fifth seed.

They've got a couple of tough games as far as opponents are concerned and 6 of their last 11 are on the road, but the way they've been playing - shorthanded no less - makes me believe they can still finish strong and then make some noise in the playoffs. Advancing to the second round or at least pushing their opponents to a 7 game first round series seems like a realistic possibility.
