cannot get lan play working

I cannot get nba live 2005 to work over a lan. There is no lan option in the menus so i goto Create Direct Connect Internet Game but it starts the server on ip address 127.0.0.1 (local) instead of 192.168.0.1 which is my lan ip. I'm connected to my friend's computer with a crossover cable.

Anyone know how to get this working? Any help would be much appreciated.
