i find it hilarious that donyell marshall is #2 in the MVP candidates...

i dont even understand it because dirk has much better #s and his team is winning, yet hes #3. weird...
AHHHH well finally im done wit all that... got it out of the way. now i can get back to the dynasty

it worked out perfectly that the league stats are on the top of the 2nd page. it makes it much cleaner and easier to find the stats. every 5 games i will update everything up there so it will always be up to date... itll be easy to do cause the format is done.

I like the way you showed the league leaders and MVP candidates, nice pictures. I'd recommend putting the names above the pictures of the MVP candidates though (even though they are recognizable players, I think it'd be best, great format nonetheless).

"Washington played tough tonight, fighting back into the game. We just played better. You could say Gilbert outplayed me but we all know I'm still the best PG in the NBA. How can you deny it? We're 7-12, 4th in the Atlantic, not in the playoffs, and I average 19 and 8. Don't deny it folks, you know how great I am. Anyway I can't wait to finish up this road trip and get back to Madison Square Garden without Carmelo. Isiah promised me he would be traded before we fly back home. I'd like to fly home without that cocky sonofabitch, I mean who does he think he is? This isn't his team. It never was, it never will be. I'm leaving this interview sucks bye."
Knicks Hold OnGilbert Arenas' 30 point effort couldn't get it done tonight against a tough New York Knicks squad. Tonight was the first game that New York decided to play without Carmelo Anthony, their star studded starting small forward. Stephon Marbury and company looked more comfortable on the court, while Anthony looked uncomfortable in his tux on the sidelines. Carmelo was seen booing Marbury when Stephon hit a 3 in the late stages of the 1st half. Allan Houston was cleared to play and made the game time decision to start. He started at SG and played well, producing 19 points (5/10) in 21 minutes. After the game he tripped on a banana peel that Carmelo had mischievously placed on the locker room floors. Houston will be put back on the IL for at least 3 weeks. Let's get to the game.
In the 1st quarter Houston was playing like his old self, knocking down the outside jumper at ease. His quick shot making forced Larry Hughes to play him on the outside, spreading out the court. This allowed Marbury to take Arenas one-on-one, which he was able to do successfully. 1 play that showed the significant difference between what Houston can do and what Carmelo could do was when Marbury got past Arenas to drive to the hoop, pro-hopped inside the paint, and made a beautiful behind the back pass to a wide open Allan Houston who knocked down the trey. At the end of the quarter the score was 25-22 for New York. The 2nd quarter was an even higher scoring quarter, in which the Knicks had a season high 31. Marbury had 4 assists in the quarter, and Boykins scored 9. Every Knick was shooting the ball well from outside and ball movement was excellent. That's something that never happened with Carmelo on the floor. At the end of the half the score was 56-38 New York, as they took clear control of the game. The players at the half were Kurt Thomas (7 points, 10 rebounds) and Gilbert Arenas (13 points, 2 rebounds).
Midway through the 3rd quarter Gilbert Arenas hit a long contested 3 that would start a 12-0 Wizards run. An 18 point lead was shot down to 6, 74-69, with a minute remaining in the 3rd. Tim Thomas came in and hit a crucial 3 which put New York up by 9. Washington came within 6 again at 85-79 with 4 minutes remaining in the last quarter, but they never got closer then that. Marbury iced the game at the FT line as he got intentionally fouled 5 times in the remaining 1:05. He was 12/12 from the charity stripe in the game. The Knicks seemed to play better without Anthony which is a good sign for Joe Johnson, Michael Redd, and Stephen Jackson fans.
New York goes to 7-12 and is trying to climb back towards the top of the Atlantic and a .500 record. They are still out of the playoffs but only a month has gone by and there is plenty of time for a playoff push. Gilbert Arenas led all scorers with 30 points, but Washington's other stars Larry Hughes and Antawn Jamison only combined for 21. Allan Houston was Herb William's personal MVP of the game, as he opened up the court and knocked down key jumpers. Houston would be the perfect SG in the Knicks lineup but his injury prone knee destroys his dependability. Knick fans should pray for the best from the banana peel incident and hope he comes back by the All Star Break.
That's wet.

nice recaps, and a realistically below .500 NY team.
You've made a good start, Shiv, keep it up.
I say hold off from any further trades until near the deadline to keep the story realistic...

Sun Mar 13, 2005 2:40 pm
dont trade carmelo
it's up to isiah i guess
Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:27 pm
Sit- ill get his stats for u tomorro its 2:23 AM now i gotta sleep
kobelive2005-carmelo is pissing me off. hes fun to play wit and everything but i play better without him and i NEED a 3pt shooter. i also wanna get a player that i really like in my dynasty... i like carmelo in real life but hes not even close to one of my favorite players. and isiah would do this. lose 4 out of 7 games and he would blame it on anthony and shop him around.
i already made the trade its actually 2 trades. in the end it all evens out cause melo and boykins for crawford was a ripper... so now itll even out more or less. ill post the news briefing tomorro.
Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:31 pm

The New York Knicks made the announcement today that forward Carmelo Anthony will be traded for guard Michael Redd of the Milwaukee Bucks. The reason that Milwaukee gave up the leading scorer in the NBA was because they were afraid he wouldn't want to re-sign with the team in the offseason. Carmelo Anthony will go to a struggling Milwaukee team and be the franchise player; something he's always wanted. The Knicks traded Anthony for several reasons; a few being that he hurt team chemistry, hogged the ball, and was nothing but trouble in the locker room. Michael Redd is a nice fit for this Knicks team, and we'll see how he progresses alongside Stephon Marbury.
March 13, 2005
Just kidding. Michael Redd will not be progressing beside Stephon Marbury. Isiah Thomas has decided to pull a 'Sheed, and will let Redd play for one game as a Knick. That game was last night against Jamal Crawford and the Nuggets. Redd scored 30 points and New York won by 10. Despite his impressive performance Isiah Thomas made another groundbreaking announcement that Michael Redd will be shipped to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson. Johnson will play his first game as a Knick tonight against the Pistons.

sry to the ppl who wanted better, but i luv playin wit JJ and hes my favorite player. not only that but hes a perfect for this team. hes only a 3 year pro and is very young, so i plan to develop him into an all star caliber player like redd was. now it evens out to crawford for JJ and boykins, which is even, at least according to O-rank (JJ is 71, boykins 59), (crawford-76). JJ was averaging 19.5 in the suns in my dynasty and hes actually very good... and will be my only 3 baller which is much needed.
i was tempted to follow wat u guys were sayin like sit-id luv to hav ray but that would make my team a powerhouse. then itd be crawford for ray and boykins in the end.
im not making any more trades until at least the deadline. even then i might not make any because now i hav the team i want. i basically just subsited jamal crawford wit joe johnson which isnt a big difference. also JJ is a cheap player at 2.4 mil and hes a FA at the end of the season, which will make it very interesting as to how i will re-sign him. it will add conflict to this dynasty.

sry if i disappointed u but i had to go wit my gut
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:55 am
lol I saw the JJ trade coming. Trading for Ray Allen would have been cooler though in my opinion, but I traded for Joe in a heat dynasty I did and he was really good (I got him after he tore me up off the bench for Phoenix).
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:58 am
hmm, jj instead of redd
Just kidding. Michael Redd will not be progressing beside Stephon Marbury.
lmao, what if we saw that in a real report. good updates
Mon Mar 14, 2005 2:22 am
fender rays the man but id feel guilty about wat ive done

besides im not even sure if seattle would do that. a lot of times teams dont trade the best player even if its fair ranking wise. i think ray is 85 ovrl and melo is 80. then id hav to giv som1 else good which i didnt want to.
mafia-redd is cool i actually luved playin wit him but jj is jus a lil bit cooler
i really wanna get to all star break because thats wen the dynasties really get rollin... so im going to play to the break and recap the good close games. then at all star break it will be back to each game update. JJ will lead me into the playoffs

Joe Johnson Makes Impact
QUICK RECAP
Joe Johnson played his first game as a Knick tonight against the world champion Detroit Pistons. Johnson had a solid night, posting 17 points and 6 rebounds. Marbury only had 14 points, but he only played 15 minutes. That's because the Knicks whooped Detroit silly by a whopping 21 points, 97-76. Maurice Taylor posted 10 points and 8 rebounds, while Kurt Thomas achieved POG honors with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Joe Johnson showed his valuable long range ability by hitting 3/4 attempts from downtown. The Knicks are now on a 4 game winning streak and are closing in on .500 and the New Jersey Nets in the Atlantic. The Nets lost today, bringing the Knicks within 3.5 games of 1st in their division.

Notes:
-Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney didn't play in the game because of a sprained elbow and knee, respectively. Both were injured in the game against the Wizards a few nights ago.
-Tonight against Detroit Malik Rose went up for a dunk and got hit in the nose by Tayshaun Prince. Rose didn't come back to the game but is cleared to start next game.
-Sweetney will be out for another two weeks while Tim Thomas' elbow will be healed 100% for next game.
-There is a conflict regarding Joe Johnson's and Maurice Taylor's jersey numbers. Both wear the #2, and one player will have to give up their number. Neither player has budged so far, and so we are asking our audience and Knick fans to give us their advice. Who should change their number and what should it be changed to?
Mon Mar 14, 2005 8:02 am
Oh no, Isaea is acting up again... how much did you pay Redd for that one 30 point game, I wonder?
Redd for JJ? Not even Isaea would do that, man.... But hey, it's yoyr dynasty, have fun
Mon Mar 14, 2005 8:34 am
i hear you but what else would i hav done? carmelo for ray? thats even worse. id rather make my team a challenge to win then an unrealistic powerhouse. in the end its crawford for boykins and JJ. isiah and any1 else would do that in a heartbeat, in my opinion. JJ is damn good hes just underrated in phoenix.
plus hes more fun to play wit for me.

Tell them to shoot for it! I bet Joe wins, although Mo can hit that mid-range J.
Naw, I think Joe Johnson should keep his number, and Taylor should get changed to 22 or something- Johnson is more of a fan-favorite, and he's the better player.
Wed Mar 30, 2005 6:52 am
I woulda kept Redd, but let JJ keep his number.
Give Mo Taylor #23. The number he had on the Clipps.
