You get three strikes... but then you can just make another account. It's stupid.

ebay is stupid cuz their is no certainty that you will get wat u purchase , and suing is the only way but if they had a better system then ebay would be genius . example you hand all of your stuff to the ebay warehouse or what not , and then they post it up from there and ebay itself sends it to your house when they get the money . might be hard to do but possible and possibly way more effective.

you just said this morning that it was genius. now i'm so confused.
i thought they were just doing that doobieknicks? then again i got no clue about this ebay stuff. i don't like lawsuits nor suing anybody either. justice system takes so friggin long

I believe what BrokenWings is saying is that the idea is great, but in some areas it's poorly executed.
I've never bought anything from eBay, only Amazon which tends to be much more reliable...though it doesn't feature bidding or some of the obscure/rare items you'll find on eBay.

thanks andrew. if what riot said was true i'm not trying ebay anytime soon. i have tried amazon couple of times. better stick there for the moment. my thirst for obscure/rare items will just bother me when i have money to burn in the future. thats a big IF still

For every "alfonso" there is about 30 good sellers. I've bought about 25 things on Ebay and that was the only time I actually had problems.

hmmm... maybe I can sell my brother on ebay... he reminds me and my friend of the fat kid from Bad Santa...

The system itself is genius. I mean, on one hand, there's people who wants to make a profit off something they don't want/need, and on the other hand, there's people who are willing to pay something for that item. Both sides win. And when you hear something like Riot's story... that rarely happens. I've bought something from e-bay and I'm perfectly satisfied.
Think about it. If you're a seller on e-bay, you most likely want to make profit. Now let's say you have a stock of inventory, you can sell all those items on e-bay and make some cash. But if you decide to rip people off, let's say 5 people, they'll all post negative reviews for you, which will discourage people from buying items from you. So what's more worth it? Ripping 5 people off, or selling all your items? In most cases, sellers will come through.
If you want good prices or rare items, e-bay's the place.

just had my first bad experience with ebay.. not that i got ripped off or anything, but i got outbidded in the last
5 seconds of the auction.. i was so choked, some people probably just stare and hit refresh on their browsers all day long
Fri Mar 11, 2005 3:59 am
That's often called e-bay sniping.

Yup, that's eBay for you! I got frustrated with that stuff sometimes.. which is why there's "maximum limits" so you can bid your highest amount, and it will automatically keep adding if somebody tries to outbid you.

hey guess what a friend of mine bought something from ebay long ago. he narrates his story to me just yesterday. when his package arrived (i believed it was a ceramic figurine) there was the picture of the owner, her number, her address, her email too. i guess she place it there in purpose. now my friends been talking to her online. and who knows they might end up e-dating and all.LOL.
talk about hitting a 2 birds with 1 stone. in ebay can you see the profile of the bidder?
