Who is the most underrated and overrated in the game?
Sat Mar 05, 2005 6:10 pm
You.
And Primoz Brezec.
Sat Mar 05, 2005 6:11 pm
I think the Grizzlies have a few underrated players. I also think a few of the players with really high speed ratings are overrated. It makes it too easy to speed and turbo glitch or to just blow past people.
Sat Mar 05, 2005 9:48 pm
Bobby Simmons underrated
Sat Mar 05, 2005 9:55 pm
LeBron is overrated.
Darko Milicic is sevearly underrated.
Just my oppinions and I stand by them, don't attemt to change them.
Sat Mar 05, 2005 9:58 pm
Can you attempt to explain them though?
Sun Mar 06, 2005 12:06 am
If you use the default ratings (I can't download Andrew's rerates or anything because I'm on gaycube) Lebron is far underrated, I think his rating is 83 or 85.
Sun Mar 06, 2005 11:06 am
chris bosh is UNDER-RATED severly. he's onlie a 71 wit the newest roster updates. come on man!. a 71!. he should be around 78-80. aights.
Sun Mar 06, 2005 12:04 pm
Yeah... Bosh, Simmons, Stoudamire from Portland, J-Rich (high 70s but plays much better than that), Mike James, Bob Sura, Al Harrington... many others
Sun Mar 06, 2005 3:53 pm
(default rosters)
Underrated:
Bobby Simmons
Joe Johnson (doesn't even have a 3ball)
Trevor Ariza (lol hes in the 30s overall)
LeBron James
Reggie Evans
Danny Fortson
Dwyane Wade
Andre Iguodala (can't dribble through legs, too slow, can't hit 3's)
Grant Hill (has good ratings but not all star ratings which they should be)
Overrated
Brent Barry (i'm sorry i know hes only high 60s overall but his individual ratings make him a superstar
Latrell Sprewell
Sam Cassell
Carmelo Anthony
Tyson Chandler
There are a lot more that are off but I think these are some big ones.... it's not necessarily overall rank but it's how the computer plays with them and how good their individual ratings are. Brent Barry would be mid 70s overall if he had mediocre defensive awareness or blocking ability, rather then low ratings like 10 there. Barry shouldn't ever light it up for 35, which he does all the time. Latrell and Sam suck this year as we all know, and Tyson isn't a dominant inside scorer yet... and he has an inside scoring rating in the 80's.
Sun Mar 06, 2005 5:21 pm
unDERRATED :Butler
Overrated : Grant
Mon Mar 07, 2005 9:15 pm
Dwayne Wade is no where near as good as he should be in game...whenever i played him or played agains him he never displays any brilliance that he should
Mon Mar 07, 2005 9:52 pm
This so useless this thread... The EA's crystal ball ain't that clear or anything. It's almost impossible to tell during the summer which rookies are going to be good and which aren't... It's impossible to tell after a couple of trades during the summer how the guys will play out the next season.
There is nothing to factor in the fact how players merge into a team or don't merge... Lakers last year had all the tools, but didn't have the box to put the tools into...
There is nothing in the game that would determine how a player will play if he gets to start some games... I wanted that primetime rating to guys a while back which would determine how much of an effect would the player benching and starting make... Some players are better off the bench and some just have to start to play a decent game...
Chris Bosh at 71... That's a good rating... It's not like he's Shaq or Duncan or KG... He can score, he can rebound and he can block in the game and that pretty much sums up his game... He is not a dominant force, or not as dominant to get an 80 rating...
Players like Bobby Simmons, Trevor Ariza, Reggie Evans and Andre Iguodala fall into the unpredictable category, all of them.
Andrew's ratings I like and trust... He's just that good of a roster patcher and I know I can't get it done any better than he does.
Mon Mar 07, 2005 10:09 pm
That was a useless post. The whole idea on the forum is to share idea's, and thats what jeff has done. Besides, I'm still waiting to see if Andreas answers my question
Mon Mar 07, 2005 11:00 pm
overrated ones are any white SF's who can shoot (with exception of Peja)....
Keith Van Horn is a killer....but I can handle being killed by Van Horn....Scott Padgett on the other hand

I've edited every single player in the game, but I'll think back on the original rosters:
Underatted
Brevin Knight
Gilbert Arenas
Larry Hughes
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony [not a good enough shooter]
Lebron James
Brad Miller [couldn't shoot]
Antonio McDyess [couldn't shoot]
Bobby Simmons
Ben Gordon
Devin Harris
Okay, let me just say about all of the rookies
Maurice Williams
Shooting ratings for almost everyone in the league
Kwame Brown
Brendan Haywood
Manu Ginobili
Joel Przybilla
Primoz Brezec
Overatted
Many of the SG's and SF's rebound ratings
Maybe Brent Barry
Tue Mar 08, 2005 6:39 am
fred jones from indiana is underated because he can't dribble at all. of course my boi wade is underated. i really don't think anyone is severly overrated at all.
Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:30 am
Oh yea, Tierre Brown also couldn't dribble, and on of the SG's on Sacramento, can't remember his name.
Rodney Buford is also underatted, basically every player except for the star players are underatted to tell the truth
Tue Mar 08, 2005 6:33 pm
overratted : the G post players
underratted : the C post players

In the xbox version in the legends pool Kareem Abdul Jabber is 76. I wasn't old enough to see him play but one of the fluent scorers would he be better than that? What do people think of his rating?
Thu Mar 10, 2005 2:25 am
Maybe that's supposed to be old Kareem
Thu Mar 10, 2005 9:13 am
yea if he was on the 70's roster his rating would be alot higher
Thu Mar 10, 2005 2:33 pm
fgrep15 y do u think kwame is underrated? i think hes one of the most overrated players in the game. hes around 66 ovrl and averages wat? 5 ppg, 4 rpg in real life? i kno hes injured but taking everything into account hes one of the most overrated players in the game, and in the real nba as well (imo).
but also even tho his 66 ovrl rating isnt amazing, his individual attributes make him about a 75. he has strength in the 80s, high inside scoring, good dunks, and a lot of athletic abilities (jump). hes also a solid defender which is BS. and hes not athletic wit his nagging foot injuries. explain to me y u think hes underrated maybe im missing something cause that surprises me

He's got those "Wizards blue glasses" on so he sees only the good things... Obviously a wizards fan as he has Haywood, Kwame, Arenas and Hughes as underrated players... I wonder why he left Jamison off the list???
Could also use a couple of better bench players am I right or what?
It's hard to give people the right ratings... And Kwame has shown is vast potential from time-to-time and he's had those 25 points, 15 rebound games during the years, but he is very inconsistent... And probably all those injuries ain't helping on that matter.
Plus Jamison, Hughes and Arenas doing basically all the shooting, what's left for the big guys after that? He can't score if he doesn't have the ball...
And it sometimes takes a change of scenery to get his game together... Just take a look at all the guys who have left the Chicago in the last couple of years... Brand, Brad Miller, Jamal Crawford etc.
I wouldn't say Kwame's a total bust... It usually takes some time to adjust to the game... He could be better, but he's no way a totally wasted first pick in my mind yet... When he's like 27-28 and still scoring 5ppg, then he's been a very bad pick, but you forget that we've had some great talent coming from high school that should never be compared to anyone else's arrival into the league from the high school... Mostly I'm talking about LeBron James... The guy who will be a threat to average a triple-double over a season since, well basically forever...
