The New York Knicks are a fabled franchise, dating back to the pre-abbreviation days when they were known as the Knickerbockers. As a Knicks fan I have fond memories of sitting in the greatest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden, at age 8. So many memories. I remember Reggie Miller bombs being dropped, I remember Alonzo Mourning's heat, I remember Patrick Ewing. I also remember the numerous fights erupting between Tim Hardaway, Zo, and Larry Johnson. And how can we forget when Jeff Van Gundy defied gravity when he hung on to Alonzo's legs and wouldn't let go. So many memories... but that was back when we won. Ever since Ewing retired New York has been in a constant spiral of doom. The introduction of Stephon Marbury proved fatal, not helpful. Desperate for more, Isiah Thomas went out and acquired Jamal Crawford. An inexperienced dribble first, shoot 2nd, pass 3rd undersized SG was not what the Knicks needed. Now with a stuffed frontcourt of Marbury, Crawford, and Houston, the Knicks faced another challenge. So with roster problems growing, what did Isiah Thomas do next? He traded our only center for undersized forwards. So 1 year and a few months since Isiah Thomas took over, the Knicks look like one of the most embarassing disappointments in the NBA. But as many people know, champions are made by surpassing adversity. And that's what this dynasty is about. The New York Knickerbockers are back.
