76ERS DYNASTY

I've tried out a few dynasties here but none of them turned out how I planned them to, so I'm really gonna work hard on this one and make it as good as possible. Could you guys please drop comments and suggestions throughout the dynasty, because it would help me make it better.

Sixers open season against Clippers
October 28th, 2004

Tonight we will see how Allen Iverson and Chris Webber work together, as they visit the Staples Center to go against the Los Angeles Clippers. This is the first game of the Sixers three game road trip, and according to Allen Iverson, there would be nothing better than opening up with a win. Allen Iverson was moved to the PG position and his coach thinks that this move will help the Sixers get some easy baskets in transitions.

On the other end we have the Los Angeles Clippers, what more can we say about them? They cleared space for Kobe Bryant but he opted to stick with the other Los Angeles team, so now they have to go without Kobe and without Quentin Richardson, who signed with the Phoenix Suns.

We get to see two of the rookies picked up in the Top 10, Philadelphia's own Andre Iguodala and the Clippers Shaun Livingston. We wouldn't expect to see Shaun Livingston that much tonight but Jim O'Brien has said he will be starting Andre Iguodala.

Tipoff is at 7:30pm and tickets are still on sale, so if you're in California and you're a Sixers fan, go support the team! Check back after the game for all the postgame hoopla.

Philly drops opener to Clippers
October 28th, 2004

The Clippers won the tipoff but 3 steals and 6 points from Allen Iverson lead to a 10-0 run to start the game off. The Clippers came back with a 6-0 run but Andre Iguodala ended that with a highlight reel jam that made even Clipper fans get on their feet. Iguodala then came back but was sent to the line, he made one free throw but missed the second. Chris Webber grabbed the offensive board and did a reverse layup for two, him and star guard Allen Iverson smacked hands at the other end of the court in celebration. Back down the court Jaric's three point attempt was contested by Allen Iverson, and he missed it. But Chris Kaman tipped it in for a easy two points, the score at this point was 15-8 Sixers. Chris Webber went for a basket in the paint was blocked, and that lead to a fastbreak basket from Clippers PG Kenny Andersen. After a missed Sixers bucket, Elton Brand came back with a vicious dunk on Chris Webber, who looked like he didn't know what was going on. With a few seconds left Webber went for a shot, but missed again, and that was the end of the first quarter.

Webber's bad game continued in the second as he missed another shot, and then on the other end gave up a layup to Kerry Kittles. Veteran G Aaron Mckie had seen enough and ran in with a circus layup on two Clipper players, the scores was now 21-16 Sixers. Kerry Kittles hit one from long range to make the score 21-19, Jim O'Brien decided it was time to make a change. He subbed in Marc Jackson and Josh Davis for Chris Webber and Samuel Dalembert, Allen Iverson, Kyle Korver, and Andre Iguodala all suprisingly stayed on the bench. The Clippers took their first lead of the night with 4:01 left in the second, 25-27 Clippers. With 1:40 left, Jim O'Brien brought his starting lineup back in. Allen Iverson and Chris Webber brought the Sixers back to life, and gave them a three point lead going into halftime.

The third quarter brought many turnovers for the Sixers, and gave the Clippers their second lead of the night. The Sixers came back with a nice pick and roll between Iverson and Webber, AI dished to Webber who dished to the wideopen Dalembert, leading to a hardcore jam. Iverson then came back and threw a alley to Samuel Dalembert, which gave the Sixers a one point lead with 4:38 left in the 3rd. Corey Maggette and Marko Jaric got in a groove and gave the Clippers a 6 point lead, Chris Webber was subbed out for Marc Jackson wth 3:40 left. The Clippers then took a ten point lead after Maggette hit a three pointer with 2:23 left. Kyle Korver then hit his first three pointer of the night, Sixers were then down by 7. Youngster Willie Green then hit a three pointer to bring down the lead to only 6, with 37.7 left in the 3rd quarter. Samuel Dalembert blocked a Kenny Andersen jumper which lead to a fast break layup from Aaron Mckie. The Sixers were now down by only six points with 10.5 reamining in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter started with Willie Green hitting a three pointer, but with 5:44 left in the 4th quarter the Clippers still held on to the lead. Allen Iverson brought his team back, first getting a layup, and then on the next possesion he hit a three pointer off a inbound pass. Sixers now trail by two points with 4:16 left in the fourth quarter. Turnovers and poor defense helped the Clippers go up by ten points yet again, and by this point coach Jim O'Brien knew it was over.

Billy King makes first move of season
October 29th, 2004

After losing to the Clippers last night, Billy King announced his first move of the 2004/2005 NBA season. He traded away G/F John Salmons to the Chicago Bulls for PG Jannero Pargo, who he is said to be very high on. "I think this guy can be a solid player if he gets the playing time, if he plays like I think he can, he'll be getting re-signed this summer.". Pargo reportedly told friends that he was happy about this move and that if his physical goes okay he will be playing against the Houston Rockets this Monday.

Tony Kornheiser: Welcome back to PTI boys and girls, earlier me and Wilbon talked about the NBA season and what we're expecting. And now we're talking about maybe the most overhyped duo in NBA history, Allen Iverson and Chris Webber.

Mike Wilbon: Most overhyped in NBA history? C'mon you can't be serious!

Tony Kornheiser: I am serious, once Webber got traded, there was all this talk about the Sixers going to the championship.

Mike Wilbon: There wasn't any talk about them going to the championship, just a few people who didn't know anything said that. Anyone who knows anything said that they weren't on a Detroit or Miami level.

Tony Kornheiser: So what are you expecting from these two? We saw them last night against the CLIPPERS, and they didn't look empressive at all. I mean, they lost to the CLIPPERS!

Mike Wilbon: Yeah, they didn't look good last night, but I think they'll just have to get use to each other. You saw last night that Iverson didn't really dish the ball, but eventually he'll start doing it.

Tony Kornheiser: So where does this team finish overall this season?

Mike Wilbon: I'm not too sure at all, there's a few teams better than them in my opinion. Detroit, Miami, Indiana, Boston, but it all depends on how good Webber and AI mesh together.

Tony Kornheiser: Okay, so do the Sixers make the playoffs?

Mike Wilbon: I'm gonna have to say yes, and I'll tell you why. You've got two superstars in Allen Iverson and Chris Webber, that will get you to the playoffs regardless. But I'm not gonna say they'll make it out of the first round, I just don't see it.

Tony Kornheiser: Alright, next we talk a little baseball and Wilbon tells us why the Cubs will win the World Series!

AI/Webber go up against Yao/T-Mac
November 1st, 2004

After a dissapointing season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Sixers and their Head Coach are looking foward to their second game against the Houston Rockets. We caught up with the Sixers at practice, where Jim O'Brien took a break to talk to us. "I think we made alot of mistakes, alot of them at the point guard position" said Jim O'Brien. "We had Aaron running the PG and he just couldn't push the ball like we wanted him to, and that's what lead to the trade where we aquired Jannero Pargo." said a sweaty O'Brien.

O'Brien's plan for the 76ers was a team that played tough defense and could run on the offensive end, but Philly fans saw the exact opposite when the Sixers played the Clippers. The team started the game off with alot of fastbreak baskets, but after that, they played extremely sloppy and showed no heart.



"We're gonna have to really step our game up if we wanna make it to the playoffs", said newcomer Chris Webber who scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Star guard Allen Iverson had no comments for the media, he seemed to be in some kind of zone.

The team that the Sixers are facing also has a new duo, Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Those two along with up and coming guard Mike James could cause the Sixers more trouble than the Los Angeles Clippers did. Both teams are 0-1, and the only gurantee in this game is that someone will walk out with their first victory

I'm REALLY pissed off right now, and here's why. I played the Rockets game and I was adding the last touches on the Postgame interviews when my ISP just closed by itself out of nowhere.

So the whole recap is gone, I can't explain how mad I am right now. I really don't feel like playing the game again to re-do the recap, so I'll just let you know the score and the top performers from the Sixers.

Yeah, it was a really really good game. Pargo suprised me alot, if he keeps having games like he had tonight, he'll be the sixth man of the year.

Sixers still looking for first W

Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Houston Rockets put on a game to remember. But in the end, Houston came up with the win on their homecourt. Allen Iverson had a chance to tie the game with a three pointer but missed it as time expired. Iverson and newly aquired PG Jannero Pargo put on a show, and were the only two Sixers to score over 20 points.



Jannero Pargo scored 26 and Allen Iverson scored 27, many people couldn't believe the game that Pargo had. "Like I said before, I see alot of potential in this kid. He just needs to get the playing time, and Coach O'Brien is willing to give it to him", said GM Billy King. After the game Monday, Pargo had a couple of words for Philadelphia fans.

"I'm here to help this team out however I can, it doesn't matter about individual stats. Me scoring 26 was big, but it doesn't matter because we lost the game at the end.", said Pargo. The Sixers head to Milwuakee in hopes that they can get their first victory of the season, we're hoping they can build on their last performance.

If the Sixers can contain Michael Redd on the defesnvie end, things could go in their favor. Look for Coach O'Brien to sub in Pargo quite a bit, to see if his last game was just a lucky performance. Also look for Allen Iverson to try his best to get on the inside and get to the line.

Sixers victorious in Milwuakee
November 4th, 2004

For the third game in a row, the Sixers failed to win the tipoff and the Bucks started the game off in front of their home crowd. Desmond Mason headed towards the rim but was blocked by Sixers foward Chris Webber, the ball flew out of bounds. Michael Redd then hit a jumper for the first basket of the game, the Sixers now got the ball for the first time. Allen Iverson used a pick from Samuel Dalembert and went for a jumper, he was fouled and he hit both free throws. After the Bucks missed two second chance baskets, Iverson used another pick from Dalembert to nail a jumper. Michael Redd and Kyle Korver both his three pointers for their clubs, at this point the score was tied at 7. With 1:24 left on the clock Allen Iverson got a fastbreak basket to put the Sixers down by only four points. Pargo and Mckie came in for Iverson and Iguodala, Pargo came in and quickly got a layup cutting the lead to two points. The Bucks scored but Pargo came down and threw an alley to Chris Webber who slammed it down hard. Pargo then came back down and outran the Bucks transition defense, he layed it up and tied the game at 21 with 18.8 left in the first quarter.

Erick Strickland ran in and made contact with Samuel Dalembert, he got hurt and was replaced by TJ Ford. TJ Ford came in and shot the free throws for Erick Strickland and gave the Bucks a two point lead, but Jannero Pargo came down and nailed a three pointer to put the Sixers up by one. Chris Webber then ran in and dunked to put the Sixers up by three points, the Sixers seem ready to pull away. Pargo picked up his third assist of the game giving the Sixers a one point lead with 4:25 left in the game. Allen Iverson checked back in and got the basket AND ONE. He missed the second free throw but Marc Jackson grabbed the offensive board and was fouled, he would now go to the line and hit both free throws. Thanks to a Michael Bradley free throw, the Sixers had their biggest lead in four. Iguodala dunked over two Bucks players to give the Sixers a eight point lead with 1:57 left in the second quarter as the Bucks fans booed. A Chris Webber shot was blocked but tipped out to Allen Iverson beyond the arc, and he nailed it. The Sixers then went up by 11 points with 21.0 seconds left in the second quarter. Matt Barnes forced a turnover and got the ball to Allen Iverson who got a easy layup on the other end of the court. The Sixers were now up by 13 with 6.7 left in the second quarter, and Iverson had 17 points.

Allen Iverson dunked it on the fastbreak and the score was now 54-31 Sixers lead. Michael Redd continued to drop shots on the Sixers while the rest of his team did really nothing. He had 21 points with 5:32 left in the third quarter but his team was still down by ten. A Chris Webber shot was blocked again but Iguodala got the ball and slammed it with almost the whole Bucks team under the basket. A Michael Redd three pointer cut the Sixers lead to only seven with 3:51 left in the third quarter, he now had 25 and led all scorers. Iverson then came back with a fastbreak layup and he now had 25 points too. Pargo subbed in for Allen Iverson and went for three pointer but missed, Marc Jackson got the offensive rebound though and dunked it in. The Bucks miss their shot and Pargo makes his way down the court quickly he then passes it out to Kyle Korver who hits a three pointer. Pargo then dished to a open Aaron Mckie who hit a three pointer, Pargo now had five assists. Erick Strickland come back down though, and hit a three pointer over Jannero Pargo to put the Bucks down by 12. Pargo drew the D's attention by running and, but he then tossed it out to Kyle Korver who hit yet another three pointer with 30.5 seconds left in the third. Marcus Fizer came down and was fouled, he made the first but missed the last. But Joe Smith got the board and layed it in for a easy two points, the lead was now cut down to twelve.

Bucks (0-0) - 63

The Bucks went on a small litle run but two free throw baskets by Iverson ended it, and the score was 77-68 with 6:21 left in the game. The Bucks went cold from the field, missing wide opens shots, and this helped the Sixers keep their lead. Iverson dished the ball to a wide open Chris Webber who dunked it down with agression, and the game looked like it was over for the Bucks. Maurice Williams slowly brought the ball up and got it stole by Iverson who scored the easy two on the other end with 4:04 left in the game. The Bucks play looked even sloppier when they were called for a shot clock violation, after Marcus Fizer held the ball the whole possesion. Iverson then got another steal and another fastbreak layup, the score was now 87-72 and the Sixers were going towards a 20 point lead. Chris Webber then got the ball and went for a layup but was contested by Michael Redd, we then see Michael Redd injured and he has to be helped off the floor. It seems like a back injury, and afterwards Webber hits two free throws. The Bucks went on a 6-0 without Michael Redd and now only trailed by seven points, the Sixers would have to get some good looks to finish the game. Iverson and Webber hit some clutch free throws to give the Sixers their first win of the season.
