Great Dynasty Mode Oddities in History

Postby End Boss on Sat Feb 26, 2005 3:31 am

I'm someone who wastes countless hours simming through seasons in dynasty mode for the few giddy thrills provided by assembling uber teams as a GM. Every so often I'm presented with evidence of the intangible and extraordinary and find myself bearind witness to Great Dynasty Mode Oddities in History, like Andre Miller (74) being traded for LeBron James (94).

I present for your amusement the 2006-2007 Center of the Houston Rockets, Chiyo Kwong

Averaging 1.3 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 0.5 BPG, 0.31 BPG, and 0.24 SPG in 11.7 MPG Kwong was able to beat out P. Chow (11.9, 1.9, 3.3), E. Robards (7.0, 5.0, 2.8), and countless other superior players from the class of 2006 to claim the honour of Rookie of the Year.

Also what's with every 5th player in the draft having being asian.

I was snooping around the names database file... and saw the name "Homer", curious... I decided to search and see if they had the last name "Simpson" in the database as well, surely enough they did. What was even more surprising was that after a few simmed seasons was that I noticed an H.Simpson in the scouting pool, a 5'10 200 lb PG projected for the late first round.

Make it 5'9 and 220 lbs and you got Homer himself...

I was doing a dynasty once and Utah tradede Andrei Kirilenko for Shareef, but I guess it's not that bad. But I doubt Utah would trade AK47 for Reefer.

I'm surprised that the CPU made that big of a trade.

lol today i was simmin through a dynasty and there were like 20 trades in 2 months. most of them were small but there were several big ones. als i got 3 differfent trade offers... the one trade that went through between cpus was pretty ODD at worst.

cuttino mobley sent to detroit for... ben wallace... i was like WTF y would detroit ever do that... so unrealistic. plus they already hav rip lol it makes NO SENSE

its funny tho cause i think cause i simmed there was a lot of player movement, but wen u play out the season theres much less. at least tahts wat i gather from it

Not a bad trade. Overall is a long way of showing how effective the team is...

However it doesnt matter. I recommend you guys playing some good NBA management simulations that give much more detail, stats and depth than what Live 2005 gives on such a basic player. As long as you dont play a game yourself, those games are much much better.

Live 2005 dynasty mode is baaaaah as far as realism is conserned...

yeah I've always felt that way... I know of total pro basketball but are there any basketball simulations that carry the nba liscense...

for some reason you get overly penalised for simming in nba live.. I assembled a brilliant team.. easily the best in the league.. finish with 31-51 despite suffering no major injury set backs.. get fired as a gm and go to the bucks.. next 5 seasons the team i assembled wins the finals

In my last dynasty, computers didn't make a single trade... is there an option I have off?

I am in my 4th season, the 2nd and 3rd were simmed. I don't think the computer has EVER done anything other than sign free agents.

Is there a missing option or something? :?
