Postby Stud_Leedz on Wed Feb 23, 2005 3:02 pm

ok i know everyone is having issues with this but i just thought i would post this b/c most people's game crashes them to the desktop... well mine straight up resets my computer! but it seems to only happen in exhibition games. me and a friend played the dunk contest, three point contest and a rookie game for about 2 hours and nothing. but when we went to play the exhibition game...BAM... about the end of the second quarter it just resets my computer. and i can play my dynasty games just fine... if any1 has any suggestions please tell me!!! gets really annoying

first of all: READ THE RULES! and change your title to non-capitals

have you tried other drivers? I have that videocard in my laptop and the game runs great with the latest ati-drivers.

also, try disabling auto reboot (system properties - advanced - statup & restore) and see if you get a filename causing the error (usually at the bodem of your BSOD)

ok i tried it. this is what happens. it does the exact same thing, except instead of rebooting my system, the screen just goes blue! like i said, my drivers for my 9700 pro are the ones that came out this month... so it didn't even give me a file name. but like i said i can play a game in dynasty mode, or the all star everything. just no exhibition games. just frustrating more than anything.
oh, and how do i change the title of my post to no caps?? thanx

:? you just get a blue screen??? there should be alot of white text on it, about the system's crash...

anyway, search for memtest86 and scan your memory. if that has no faults you should try updating/downgrading your drivers and you might chance your topic title to "which drivers to use on a radeon9700" or something like that so other ati users will take a look here.

well hey that sounds like a good idea. i may change the title. i know my memory has got to be fine though b/c my system runs far cry perfectly, half life 2 just fine, and the list could go on. its just the exhibition games in nba live. i think i might have got it though, i just reinstalled the game b/c i realized that it didn't start happening until i downloaded the new courts for the bobcats and the new all star courts. so that might have messed me up. i don't know yet, we will see what happens... if that doesn't work you will be hearing from me again... lol thanx for your time and everything though...

lol you are telling me. but that is what they suggested when i emailed tech support at EA. something with the game not needing an awesome video card and mine beeing to good... i was like whatever. but i asked one of my friend who has the same card, and he said that with some older games, he has to do that other wise it resets on him. but as for the blue screen he said i still should have gotten some kind of text... whatever, it works now. we played for 2 hours last night, so i am good
