Hello Jörn. I moved this toppic to 2005 General Issues since it's not really about patching. Try to get it in the correct section in the future...

I like Ben Gordon a lot. Shoots well, quick, great hops, above average defense, small salary.

Okafor, Dwight Howard too. Heck, even Gilbert Arenas is young, 23 years old, but he has a near-max salary.

JR Smith

But on a serious note if your looking to build a dynasty around someone then maybe Dwight, Wade, Melo are a few guys you should consider.

You can get some pretty good young talent in the draft (if you're looking for long-term success). I've found that I've done well drafting some 7-footers, as with their decent skills they do well, and they're always a threat to block shots with their shear size.

Long guys usually have pretty weak expectations in the game as they do in real life as well... You should go for big guys that come out of the drafts as they usually are better than the original and maybe even develop into the monsters they could be... I drafted this one guy in the second round with good/excellent potential and he was 7'4" tall... Has some skill, but I am hoping that he will become a good player so I could have a really dominant player in a couple of seasons.

Podkolzine and the rest have size, but little skills required to play ball at NBA level. Draft produces guys that sometimes even have the skills. I have seen many 7' small forwards for example being drafted in the top 5 picks that are really good.

Size is nice, but rarely has skills... But each to his own...

LBJ is the man to build around... Or Wade... Those guys are the next super stars in the league. And they are almost there already...

In my Bobcats dynasty i've traded for Josh Childress, and he's my go-to guy and leading scorer + ast leader. He's terrific at driving to the basket and can shoot the open three too.
