Genre Winners In Music

Postby Ataraxia on Sat Feb 19, 2005 1:14 am

k I know theirs 5000 against 10 in terms of Rap fans.....but lets try to become non-biased for a few minutes....and answer some questions....all Genres are available at your disposal.....

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : Im gonna go with Rap here....so your like WTF...that rock freak is supporting rap?...well I actually think rap artist(specially the good ones)deliver very very emotional lyrics on a daily scale....I think its just that their able to express more emotion in their lyrics.

2. Most Positive Influence : Ill go with Rock here.....why because if ppl only took the time to listen to most of the good artists their always promoting positive vibes....their not some suicidal spreading satannic monster like most parents and fellow teens come to label them as....Pop artist are despicable these days.....

3. Most Negative Influence : Im gonna go with Death Metal and Pop...well Death Metal is a metal genre thats not very positive...their the guys that get the good rockers labelled as angry men with nothing but hate......and why Pop....well because most artists just promote sex....99% of Pop artists just spice up their videos n try to get a following of young teenagers to practically worship them and see them as sex symbols...

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Ill go with Techno but Rap, Rock and Metal arent far behind....theirs just to many guys mixing up beats....more than 90% just steal beats from fellow Jockey's.....but Im a huge fan of Moby and Fatboyslim....their simply beat maestro's....but then theirs like a million DJ's who put out beats that sound like someones having a big shit in the toilet(u know using that farting sound Aaliyah had in one of her songs)

5. Genre We Can Do away With : Hmmm.....Death Metal and Negative rappers.....I hate guys that put out stuff that just encourage more hate and destruction into this world....because of them their respective and respectable core genres get labelled as bad stuff.

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Prolly Jazz or the Blues...Classical music aint bad either......its prolly something anyone can listen to at least somewhere in your life.

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Rock(mostly Soft) and Classical....most ppl tend to listen to and like songs in these genres after the age of 40 or so.....when their ears are tired of hearing ppl complaining...

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : Pop and R&B....sadly......the new generation is a sex'd up generation......its not a big suprise when we here an 17 year old mother.....it would be seen as pure madness about 15 years ago but now everyone's like....err oh yeah...and well Pop and R&B artists r encouraging it with their sex'd up lives etc...

9. Wannabe Generating Genre : Rap & Rock......both have been liable to creating their share of wannabe's......rap's created wiggas whilst rocks created "I dont cares"......

10. Most underrated Genre : Prolly Reggae .....their r some really good bands out there playing this genre of music that dont get alot of attention because it seems only few ears r tuned to like this kinda music.....RIP Bob Marley.

I agree with most of what you said, but I have a slight variation in terms of opinion.

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : I'll go with rap too, since we're just talking about lyrics, but as for emotion through lyrics, it's rock, hands down.

2. Most Positive Influence : Hmm... the word "positive" is a key one. I'd say techno or ambience, just because the music is more uplifting.

3. Most Negative Influence : Metal, pop, and rap. Nuff' said.

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Rap. There's too many clones and wannabe's, and doing anything they can to make extra $$$.

5. Genre We Can Do away With : Britney Spears clones. All they do is make the sluts out of women.

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Rock.

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Classical and jazz. It's soothing, and you won't catch too many kids listening to either, imo.

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : Pop, hip hop, and rap. They're all over MTV, and teens are all over MTV.

9. Wannabe Generating Genre : Rap seems to edge rock, for now.

10. Most underrated Genre : Jazz. There seems to be a lot of popularity among adults, especially in the emergence of "coffee culture."[/quote]

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : RAP- given that most come from poor backgrounds they know how to lace a track with emotional lyrics

2. Most Positive Influence : Classical- it actually helps you memorize stuff when studying

3. Most Negative Influence : Pop, Rap & Heavy Metal

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Rap, too many clones coming out with the same old shit

5. Genre We Can Do away With : whatever it is that Marilyn Manson does

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Classical & Jazz

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Classical, Jazz, Blues & Country

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : whatever's on MTV

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : Progressive rock, esp. Rush. Some concept albums in the genre can make you cry. Really.

2. Most Positive Influence : Classical is great, just relax.

3. Most Negative Influence : All those strange demon-worshipping death and balck metal bands.

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Pop, by far. I'm just sick of it.

5. Genre We Can Do away With : Whatever plays in the dentist's office and in the elevators.

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Pop music.

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Jazz.

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : whatever's on MTV (uughhh.)

9. Wannabe Generating Genre : Pop. Everybody wants to be a pop star these days, even if they can't sing.

10. Most underrated Genre : Reggae!! It should be more important than, say, techno.

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : Rock ... Guns n roses is a good example, they can have a happy and upbeat song like "sweet child o mine", then have a song about drugs "Mr Brownstone" and have a song about angst " double talking jive motherfucker" (exact title of the song).

2. Most Positive Influence : Classical is great, just relax.

3. Most Negative Influence : Death metal, and Rap.

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Rap. They all suck.

5. Genre We Can Do away With : Rap.

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Rock. ( Classical, Modern , Pop-Rock, Heavy metal, death metal, Grunge, Progressive, Electronica, Shred etc etc.)

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Jazz.

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : Rap. Stupid Mtv.

9. Wannabe Generating Genre : Rap. Good example of it on NLSWiggers.

10. Most underrated Genre : Rock.

10. Most underrated Genre : Ska. Not many people understand the mastery of the different brass instruments needed to make this music.

Agree with all that, except most positive influence. For me it is rap, but I can see why someone wouldn't put rap...

1. Most Emotional Lyrics : Rock. See: AFI. "Mah dawg got shot by da po-po n mah ma had a baby when she wuz 14 dawg" isn't emotional.

2. Most Positive Influence : Dunno, rock and rap have upsides and downsides. There's rock fans who listen to the music and find something positive from it, then there's attention seekers who just cut themselves while listening to Good Charlotte or whatever. On the other hand, rap breeds wiggers. Enough said. Oh, and everyone wants to be a gangsta... it's sickening.

3. Most Negative Influence : Pop is slowly destroying original music, and rap creates wiggers.

4. Most Overload of Unneccessary Artists : Bias aside, this seriously is rap. The amount of talented artists compared to useless puppets who have some wanker like Pharrell making their beats is miniscule. There's a ratio of good to bad of about 1:30

5. Genre We Can Do away With : Don't really care... dance music I guess, just to see how England would recover from it. Personally I'd like to see rap eliminated.

6. Most Suited Genre for All Ages : Interesting question, although not interesting enough for me to think of an answer to it.

7. Most Adult Oriented Genre : Hmm... classical without a doubt. They don't exactly market it to teenagers do they...

8. Most Teenage Oriented Genre : Rap

9. Wannabe Generating Genre : Rap

10. Most underrated Genre : Acoustic
