Lakers (15-8) @ Grizzlies (19-7)
Lakers 105
Grizzlies 102

Memphis, Tenn. - Kobe Bryant scored 10 of the last 12 Laker points to help the Lakers snap their three-game losing streak against the Southwest Division-leading Memphis Grizzlies.

After consecutive 3-pointers by Bryant put the Lakers up 99-90 with little over 2 minutes to play, the Lakers lapsed into an offensive funk as the Grizzlies utilized a 10-0 run to get back into the game. With the clock at 28.8 seconds and the Lakers needing to score, Bryant took the ball from an inbounds pass and immediately attacked the basket, drawing a foul from Stromile Swift to go to the line with slightly over 24 seconds left in the game.

Bryant made the first free throw to tie the game at 100, but missed the second. Chris Kaman, who had been largely ineffective in the game, however, came up with the clutch play as he tipped the ball in for his 10th rebound and 10th point of the game to restore the 102-100 lead. After the Grizzlies ran a quick play to score on the other hand, it came down to 14.8 seconds for the Lakers to score. TJ Ford drew into the paint, kicked the ball out to Bryant, and the latter, who finished 6 for 10 from behind the arc for the game, drained the open 3-pointer with 5.1 seconds left for the win.

"We needed that, a confidence-booster after 3 emotionally-wrecking games," said Laker GM Selwyth. "And when you need wins, you go to Kobe."

The Lakers had lost their previous two games off a clutch Ben Gordon 3-pointer in Chicago and a game-winning 3-pointer by Rodney White against New Orleans. Hence, Bryant's own game-winning 3-pointer was all the sweeter for the Pacific Division-leading Lakers.

"My message here is: anything you guys do to my team, I'll do it better," said Bryant of his clutch performance. "I'm the best player on here, and I'm leading this team to another championship."

Bryant's 29 points were complemented by Lamar Odom's season-high 28 points and 12 rebounds to help overcome Pau Gasol's 36 points and Jason Williams' 25 points.
