ok, after seeing that, i now have to come in

the real grizzlies would never make that trade in real life, because first off, they dont need damon jones when they have watson, jwill, bonzi, dahntay, miller and posey. if the grizzlies wanted a center, they would go for a big man that could start for their team, thats why they went for players like i.e. curry and dampier. even if the grizz MIGHT not resign stro next year, which imo i think they are, they wouldnt trade him for someone like haslem. they would try and get more than that for stro because he is a valuable prospect in the league right now. so ill have to say dont do the trade because its unrealistic.

Swift plays C first, then forward... So I put Swift at starting PF... and when Shaq needs rest I move Swift to C. Then I substitute Shaq.

Okay, I'm not going to argue with you there. Nevertheless, you are from Memphis and I am from ... Greece.

Well since Ive seen Mafia's wisdom I would say the trade would be very good for you. But your team is already playing awesome so there really isnt any need to exploit the cpu GM's stupidness.

Its your dynasty though, so its your call. (Y)

Well... relax. :D Now that I have seen all the comments, I decided not to trade again in this season... If I make this one, will be in the offseason.

Jordan: "Wade one of 'young talents'"

HEAT NOTEBOOK
Jordan: Wade one of `young talents'

BY ISRAEL GUTIERREZ
igutierrez@herald.com

Dwyane Wade grew up in Chicago watching Michael Jordan lead the Bulls to six championships, so it meant a lot to the Heat guard to receive praise from the Bulls legend.

Jordan, in New York to announce that he is moving his Jordan Classic high school all-star game to Madison Square Garden, said he is fond of Wade.

''He's one of the young talents of the league,'' Jordan said. "The best thing about him is he's a mature kid.''

Jordan, though, warned against comparing Wade to him.

''He no different than LeBron [James],'' Jordan said. "He's got to create his own image and make his own impact.''

Like Jordan, Wade spent three years in college before entering the league, a path Jordan recommends.

''If you want to look at what college can do for you, I think you can look at Dwyane Wade,'' Jordan said. "He spent three years in college and he's producing, he's ready for the pros.''

Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said he is happy for Wade.

''For him to be there in his second year, I know he's very happy and I know our player personnel people who made that draft pick are extremely happy, as they should be, to see a guy progress that quickly,'' Van Gundy said. "I'll enjoy watching it.''

STILL LEARNING

Shaquille O'Neal is recognizing that his teammates are adjusting to everything that comes with being a winner at that level.

''I think sometimes we don't have the killer instincts that we should have,'' O'Neal said. "Sometimes we're not as focused as we should be."

"Michael Jordan told me, before you succeed you must first learn to fail. This is new for everybody in this organization.''

ETC.

• Rumors persist of Phil Jackson possibly returning to coach the Knicks next season, but O'Neal said he would like to see interim head coach Herb Williams get the job permanently.

''He has worked his way up as a player, he has worked his way up as an assistant coach,'' O'Neal said. "I'd like to see him get a couple-year contract.''

Everybody wins in this scenario

IN MY OPINION
Everybody wins in this scenario

BY DAN LE BATARD
dlebatard@herald.com

So now it looks like Alonzo Mourning is returning to the franchise he never should have left.

This is good for the franchise and for the player.

In other words, Good Mourning, Miami.

This is a no-lose proposition. As in, Miami won't be doing no losing. Mourning wins. Pat Riley wins. Stan Van Gundy wins. Shaq wins. And everyone else in the Eastern Conference keeps losing.

Miami needs more size and strength. Mourning provides those cartoon muscles, and cheap. He is what you need to help Shaq with those big Wallaces in Detroit once the defending champions feel like playing again. He's what you put up against the Tim Duncans and Kevin Garnetts and Jermaine O'Neals and Amare Stoudemires that Miami's Udonis Haslem, for all his want, is too undersized to handle for any duration, if at all.

No lose: If Mourning is short-circuited again by his myriad ailments, Miami is 2nd behind Cleveland in the conference, as it is today without him. But if Mourning stays healthy, Miami has improved itself markedly by acquiring the best available power forward outside of Karl Malone.

And here's why this is so exciting, aside from the obvious rebounding, defense and shot-blocking Mourning brings:

He doesn't cost Miami much of anything, unlike so many of the other trades available.

SMART TINKERING

You don't want to mess too much with a team that is so much better than everyone else in the conference. Miami is a flabbergasting 12-4 in the East, 3-2 in the division. And a 9-2 record on the road. So the standings indicate Miami ought to coast to The Finals unless Shaq or Dwyane Wade gets hurt.

And this is the perfect kind of tinkering, getting something for nothing, Toronto willing to pay the disgruntled Mourning to just please go away.

Tempting as it might be to send Eddie Jones to dismantling Toronto in a package for Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall, you don't want to upset the balance of the conference's best team by trading a scorer and the team's best defender (Jones) midway through the season, especially not when Jones finally appears to be finding his footing and touch and role after almost half the season.

CHECK THE EGO

Mourning improves you without changing you. And he makes you look more formidable against the superpowers out West.

Shaq getting into foul trouble isn't quite as scary if a healthy Mourning is the guy coming in off the bench.

Mourning's ego? That's no small thing.

But it ought to fit if he's to be believed about wanting to win a championship above all else. He has said that a lot through the years, even while always grabbing at more money, but he's going to have to get used to being more irrelevant on this team than he has ever been on one.

He's used to being the star, the last piece, the center in both position and statue. But here he's just another part, a replacement, a dirty-work guy who won't get any plays called for him and is going to have to get his points by doing the kind of janitorial work Haslem does.

CLEAN-UP HELP

It will be awkward, seeing someone who is used to being the king relegated to cleaning up around someone else's palace.

But it is what Riley needs, and Riley already gave Mourning $100 million once without getting a championship return on his investment, or anything close. Mourning is being brought here to clean up around Shaq, not get in his way.

Mourning refused to show up in Toronto after being traded from New Jersey, and refused to take a buyout with the Nets, so it is both a winding and whining journey that has brought him back to Miami's doorstop.

Pretty good trade, that one.

Trading a winding and whining path for a winning one.

Thanks bro. And no, I didn't need that trade (but I love Stro's play). I started playing more with Shaq, giving Doleac's minutes to Laettner in some games. Now I'm preparing a 3-game update. :D
