You play the games on your schedule
29--58--or 82 game seasons
You cant hire anybody, but you can be fired and be GM of another team
Cant set prices either like on Madden

Building a successful NBA franchise involves more than just juggling a roster: you've got to hire the right coaches, set ticket prices, and even decide how much to charge for parking and hot dogs. Sure, you want to build a winner on the court, but you've got to look at the bottom line as well -- and that means bringing in enough dough to turn a tidy profit, even as you're scoring the championship trophy.

As far as Iknow, you can't set ticket prices or sell stuff like hot-dogs, beer, etc. You can hire different coaches for a different amoun of time, like a shooting coach, that'll help your shooting ratings for a game, 3 games, or wathever you hire him.

You must have to be pretty damn bad to get fired. I haven't bothered using extras when I've quick simmed a season sometimes but haven't got fired. How do you get fired?

It's easy to be brave from a safe distance, so go nuts.

If you have a bad team that is bad for like 2-3 seasons in a row you get fired... If you play some, train some, scout, trade etc. You won't be fired...

It's pretty hard to get fired. I like it as it is... Sometimes in Live 2004 you could get fired after the first season so you really couldn't do a team make over during the off-season before you got fired... That was pretty bad...

I haven't done many extras either, but they really don't seem to make a difference for the "you're fired"-Donald Trump thing...

Well, regarding all that, I believe that if EA took NBA 2005's gameplay, Madden 2005's franchise mode and player models , along with NHL 2005's dynasty presentation and made a whole new basketball game, then we could not ask for much more in the future...

I've been saying this for years... However I don't like the controls of the NHL dynasty mode on the pc... They are just screwed up big time...

I have been ranting on these boards how EA should try to make all their games have the same basic parts of dynasty... Every sports has their player rosters, salaries, some sort of a limit to salary (NBA has the cap too), home game attendance, concessions stands at the arena, fan store sales, contract negotiations, game schedule, off-season action (draft, free agent stuff), injuries etc. If they had one team making the standard torso for this and the Madden's, NHL's, NBA's would take this torso and put some arms and legs on it to make it work like it does in the real sports...

It would allow more room for improvement on other aspects as they wouldn't have to do all the UI's and basic structures from scratch... We might even end up getting better games due to it.

Ofcourse there's EA's side of things... You buy NBA for the gameplay, Madden for the Dynasty and NHL for the usability... Triple the cash when all these parts are not in the same package...

I believe that paragraph is just an introduction for the interview, hinting at the expansion of Dynasty Mode. It does seem to insinuate that such features are (or were going to be) in NBA Live 2005, but they aren't. NBA Live 2005's Dynasty Mode is deeper than the one in NBA Live 2004 though.

with the extras, does anyone actualy sim a game at a time?
coz its just seem pointless and boaring
for me i just sim the whole month, beacouse u cant realy do much douring the season. Players dont complain about minutes, not fights, no suspensions. Like what could u do during the season? the scouting reports u dont even have to read, just select what u want to know about the player and thats it?!

well if u bought the game then the point is to play it. the point of dynasty mode is to have fun playing games against different teams. it definitely gets old after awhile playin 82 games wit 1 team, but its jus like in the real nba. midway through the year all the teams care about is that 1 Win that night... and then the next day that win... then the next win... it does get old for the nba players too, but the whole point of the season is not to play games. its to make the playoffs... so each game ur goal should be to make playoffs... for me if i hav a lil time i get a game in whenever i can, cause i dont really care bout the season, i jus wanna make it to the playoffs. this doesnt mean that i dont hav fun tho. its a fun game to play

Yeah I think the scouting is a little weak, but I haven't gone into a draft yet so maybe it gets better? I think it should have at least a little more depth on the player's skill in different areas. It's also true that a more madden-like dynasty mode would be great. But I think the reason it's more detailed in dynasty is because besides the money factor (and don't flame me on this, I'm taking a guess) is because Madden is a little more popular? Taking nothing away from Live, but it just seems to me that Madden has always been THE best football game in all areas, while Live has certainly been good, but not as defined as Madden. But in Madden they have newspapers, players get mad, you set all ticket prices/concessions, you can upgrade your old stadium after a few successful years, it has a radio show that reports on the action. One time I tried to make a blockbuster trade with my running back and linebacker, just for fun, and my whole team was raging mad, and it was front page of the national newspaper (before I even made the trade).
