MIAMI, Nov. 9 (Ticker) -- Washington got his revenge.
Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison scored 24 and 29 points, respectively, as the Wizards defeated the Miami Heat, 104-94.
Miami got its first loss in four contests.
Shaquille O'Neal helped key the attack for the Heat, making 12-of-21 shots, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The Heat will face a better test Thursday, when they host Dallas.
"I'm just so much more confident than I was last year," Udonis Haslem said. He scored 8 points, but collected 15 rebounds. "We've got to step up and make more shots. But Shaq gives you confidence, at both ends of the floor."
Wade, who is averaging 27 points per game, agreed with Haslem's assessment.
"Shaq gives you confidence at both ends of the floor," Wade said. "Everyone is playing together."
Dwyane Wade and Damon Jones combined for 33 points on 14-of-24 shooting.
"Damon was outstanding," Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said. "Dwyane was phenomenal. They are both very intelligent guys. They are players that have as much basketball knowledge as anyone in the league."
All Washington's starters scored at least 11 points: Brendan Haywood scored 16, Jared Jeffries 11 and Larry Hughes 19.
"We're playing good team ball," said Eddie Jordan, Wizards' head coach.
"When you have Shaq on the other side, it makes things hard to stop," said Haywood, who returned from a three-game league suspension. "He gets them good shots. But we stepped up and we made our shots."
A 20-4 run by Washington in the last quarter sealed the score. Then Miami scored 13 straight points, but it wasn't enough.
