v1.05 released...

Postby Andrew on Sun Jan 23, 2005 7:35 pm

The usual info:

A new version (v1.05) of the current roster update for NBA Live 2005 is now available to download here.

New in v1.05:
- 2004/2005 Rosters updated through January 22nd, 2005
- Player ratings updated
- Positions updated for better substitution patterns
- Some player data corrected
- Michael Jordan 2D portrait and cyberface by Kristo Vaher
- Charles Barkley 2D portrait and cyberface by Kristo Vaher

As always, please base feedback on the most up to date version. Thanks, and hope you like the latest version. It's not quite as big an update as v1.04, it's mostly a transactions update...though a couple of awesome legend cyberfaces have been added, thanks to Kriso Vaher. (Y)

Hey Drew,

Got the ratings file you did for text-based updates working .... good job mate.

Just wondering if you had made any ratings changes for v1.05? If so could you drop me them, or do up another file like you did for .04?

Thanks,
B

I made a couple of changes. If you download the latest version of the PC update and open the Access file using the latest players.dbf file, it should show up correctly. But I still plan on updating the Access file and making it much more user friendly (and bug free ;)).

No need to post the same question twice...as I said in the other thread, please consult Legends Faces.txt for troubleshooting info. (Y)

If anyone wishes to install the John Stockton cyberface for NLSC Roster patch then I included the instructions to do exactly that in the readme (because at the time of NLSC v1.05 release Stocktons patch was not out yet).

Grab John Stockton from:

http://www.hot.ee/mjdecade/John_Stockton.rar

The Readme file includes Chapter C that deals with the isntallation into NLSC v1.05 Roster Patch.

As for the v1.05 Andrew, set Stockton into starting PG ;) He is the purest PG in the history of the league and he cant start as a sub for Penny ;)

I'm pretty sure I did put Stockton in the starting lineup for v1.05...if not, I'll definitely do so for v1.06. I've just downloaded the cyberface and added it to the roster ready for the next release. Thanks! (Y)

Andrew... this could be another nice work of your... too bad i'll be waiting 5 for days before i could personally try it at home. (i have work)

Hope to see changes with the Pacers ratings and Stephen Jackson back in the line up. If Jackson not back in the line-up i'll just reorder it.

Thanks again to this wonderful patch.

P.S. hope the Bulls won't surpass my Pacers in the Season Standings... he he he

Hey Andrew... just a thought... but now that the portraits for MJ and Barkley included.. and we know that it is possible to add a cyberface for them, would it be possible to add the announcer speech files for their names? I mean as in extracting the speech files from past Lives? Don't sweat it if that's not possible

I'd do it if were possible, but the speech files are pretty stubborn. We haven't been able to do anything with them since NBA Live 99. I was hoping that some audio would have been left in the game (as it was in NBA Live 2004), but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any speech files for the missing Legends.

Not as far as I know. I don't think anyone was able to get the PBP Editor for NBA Live 2003 to work and it isn't compatible with Live 2004 or 2005.

Andrew, aren't there fields in the DBF for player first names and player last names? If so, could you just use combinations of names to give them speech recognition?

Well, this guy really came from nowhere. There's a bunch of correct SG on the free agency but you wouldn't expect that this guy would land in the League. He'll surely be on the next version of the roster.

andrew,
how do you come up with the bench warmers ratings? players like billy thomas, and james thomas.. i was wondering cause i'm creating some players in my season like Blake Stepp, Desmond Penigar, Shane Heal etc and i don't know how to rate them...

what do you suggest?

It doesn't work like that, so no. Sorry.

I'm still trying to find some more information on him. It is an oversight, if he's still around by the next update I'll include him.

Lower fatigue and primacy ratings. If they are good in a certain category, don't underrate them simply because they are benchwarmers. I use the same system I do for all the players: I work in ranges. Most benchwarmers aren't as good so the ranges are lower and thus the overall is lower. The lowered fatigue and primacy ratings allow the player to play a benchwarmer role while lowering the overall realistically so that the player has appropriate trade value.

Hi Andrew,

Based on the date, is it correct to assume that this patch already includes the New Orleans-Phoenix (Jim Jackson for C. Jacobsen, Lampe and Vroman) trade?

Thanks.

Ok, I'm a bit stoopid, so just to clarify ....

All I need to go is get the .dbf from from the .05 update, and swap it with the older .04 update? Then just open the .mdb file as I have been doing?

Andrew

Can you do something withe the ratings to fix the problem of the guards doing almost all the shooting. For example Parker on SA and Bibby and Mobley on Sacramento, Sprewell and Cassel in Minnesota and on.

I have the game for the PS2 and PC. Believe me that the roster update does the difference. It makes it a hole new game.

But thers always room for improvement

Great job :D

That's correct...but I've just released a better version of the Access update.
