Tiebreakers

Postby [Q] on Mon Jan 24, 2005 10:56 am

ok this has happened to me twice already where I was left out of the playoffs because I tied for 8th... If the rules haven't changed, then it should go to the head to head matchup during the season... if that's tied, then I think it goes to conference wins, not sure bout that one. But I got two scenarios for you: 1) Identical overall records, tied 2-2 in the season, I had better Conference and Divison records, but they made it in. 2) I had beaten the Heat 2 out of 3 times in the season and they still get the playoff berth over my team. Is this a glitch?

I believe in the game, the team that comes first alphabetically makes the playoffs.

I noticed this a lot of times during my dynasty when CPU teams tied. Always, the team that came first alphabetically advanced. Head-to-head matchups were totally random.

e.g. Atlanta and Washington tie. Atlanta advances. Boston, Detroit and Orlando tie. Boston advances. Orlando might have swept Boston, Detroit might have swept Boston. It doesn't matter. Boston goes through because it starts with letter 'B' instead of 'D' or 'O'.

Yes, it's a glitch.
