He's just sharing a story with his fellow NBA Live fans. If you're not interested in the topic, don't post. Simple as that.

I haven't had anything that bad happen to me, though I've had a couple of frustrating OT losses thanks to some threes that really shouldn't have gone in.

i had a game where ben wallace hit a 3 pointer 2 feet behind the arc

in my dynasty im 23-23, and i think over 10 of those 46 games have gone to OT, its great. and ive gone to double OT twice

Do you think it's easier to hit a half-court 3-pointer with a sharpshooter or a Shaq-type of guy? I usually let Ben Wallace/O'Neal shoot the half-court 3-pointer, because I don't want to mess up my shooters' 3-point percentage.

After the McGrady incident VS. the Spurs, I'd say EA have done a pretty accurate job

True, they weren't too unreasonable but they were either heavily contested by taller players or by players who aren't tremendous three point shooters so it was still a little frustrating. Still, it makes the Dynasty more interesting.

In my Miami Dynasty I played the first playoff round against the NJ. 15 seconds to play I led with 1 point. Kidd moves the ball to midline then I doubled him. He passed to Mourning on the 3 point line, i thought no problem but with 1 second to play he hit a 3 pointer in the face of Shaq for the win.

And the conclusion is, in NBA Live 2005 is a little bit of Tracy McGrady in every player.

One question. Did somebody win a close game when the cpu got the last shot? I think a lost about 80% of close games when the cpu fires the last shot.

Struck down by new feature...

Postby robjv1 on Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:32 pm

I have to say, I do enjoy the new NBA live tip in feature, but as far as my "worst" moment of a game it certainly wasn't beneficial haha! I actually have a video of it to review form, but here i'll set it up, it's more of a "combo" of two games:

Game 2 of the East finals - my Detroit Pistons against the New Jersey Nets (Fantasy drafted teams; my stars being Rasheed, T-Mac, Sam Cassel their's being Lebron James, Gilbert Arenas and *gulp* Theo Ratliff...

So the game is tied 92-92 with 4.8 seconds left, they've got the ball with no timeouts left... so I'm just trying to play good defense without fouling. Our defense keeps Gilbert back pretty far and he takes a long time to get up court, crossing half court with about 2.3 seconds left and shoots a three easily at least 28 - 30 feet out... brick... Theo Ratliff tips it in with like NOTHING left on the clock at all (ball hits the rim at about 0.6, into his hands at about 0.3... no review of the shot by the refs (i guess they don't review tip ins?) the announcers actually announce it as going to overtime, but then the Nets start celebrating and the score is shown... 94-92 NETS win....

Game 3 of the same series - I'm down 85-87 with 4.1 seconds left, I give the ball to Sheed Wallace in the paint, he backs down Theo and goes for the sky-hook, with about 2.1 left... misses the shot... Tip-in by PJ Brown with 0.4 seconds left standing RIGHT in front of the rim... bounces right off of the backboard and onto the floor - loss #2 to the Nets

Luckily, I would win the next three straight to win the series, but that certainly was the worst way to be acclimated to the tip in feature! haha

I am currently 3-6 in my dynasty with Lakers, this game is damn HARD. Well the other day playing grizzlies I was down 17 points heading into the 4th. We went on a run and brought the game to within 2, then on my possesion Kobe Hit's a DEEEP trey with 12 seconds, I then play full court press, Jason Williams closley guarded by Tierre, Just as he got to the half i bring Kobe over to double, before i got the chance he does a quick crossover move and launches one of those QUICK release 3's and drains it, but there's 3 secons left, i call my last timeout, i then get the inbound, Kobe launches as time expires, CLANK. Game Over 93-91 memphis.

I posted this on my Miami Heat dynasty topic. I had a 1point lead with just around 2 seconds left when Brent barry stole the inbound pass and took a 3pt shot, i thought i'm dead meat but Barry missed! =)

i used to do that, but not anymore, its pointless. it is easier i think for a tmac type guy obviously... cause most of the time wit a big guy it completely airballs. but anyway... how many 3s do u take in a season? im 3/5 done with my season, and joe johnson is my main 3 point shooter. hes taken over 300 attempts, and i think hes hit like 95 (not great but thats not the point). so if ive played 54 games, that means that MAYBE 5 or 10 of those attempts were buzzer beater halfcourt attempts. that equals to 3% of the shots he took in the season. so... it really does not affect the 3 point %. and worrying about %'s aint no fun, cause then u worry too much about shooting, while u should jus play to hav fun

As a devout Rockets fan, that Dec 9 TMac insanity made my year. I have it on the DVR and it's one recording that will not be erased. I'm sure I must've seen more impressive comebacks than that at the end of a game, but I'll be damned if I can think of one. I felt great for three days because of that performance.

It's practically impossible to do something like that in Live05, though. Don't think I haven't tried.

i played this game with my friend. ill have to say its one of my most intense games. it was really because it happened when we were still contending who is the better player, so theres a lot of trash talking and all that.
it was a close one the whole game. hes using heat and i the cavs. it came down to the final minute.

wade scored, then james scored, by dunks or jumpers, then wade, then james, then wade, i dont know how many times but both guys were just unstoppable. the last posession came to me. i took a time out then played the last play. i gave the ball to james of course, knowing he would make the last shot and i was over confident. but my friend doubled him, and i found mcinnis in the corner just inside the 3pt arc, then released the shot. i didnt even bother to look if the shot went in. i just stood up and turned my back.it was a real heart breaker for my friend.

Great moments... The TMac thing... I don't think I've ever seen anything like that... Draining one on the big guy actually crafted the win for Houston... Duncan was the one that fouled TMac and allowed the four point play in that final 35 seconds... So putting your big guys on them isn't always the best solution.

I do think of my self as a pretty good three point shooter, but TMac is just something else (Kill surprise)... That just got water running down from my eyes as I watched it in trance. 12 down with 40 seconds to go... That's just something else. It's like Finland leading Sweden 5-1 in a hockey game midway of the game and end up losing it 6-5... Just something that isn't done.

There's a lot of talk about the 50 point games that JO, Iverson, Amare, Dirk etc. have had, but they all, just everything this season, falls short when compared to what TMac did... He single handedly saved the game. And those were some pretty tough shots too not like he was given any room on any of them...

Great comebacks come and go... This one will be remembered through time.

A couple of games ago in my Mavs Dynasty i did a Mcgrady like thing. With a minute remainig and 10 down I made a three with Nowitsky then imidiatly stole the in bound pass to open Nowitsky again then anothe steal another pass to Nowitsky this time in the corner with half of his feet out o bounds (Like Shawn Elliot of the Spurs remember) and swish. Im down only one and it was all M Finley and Nowitsky and its over. This is the most fun I,ve had since the first time I played Live in 95.
