trading draft picks

Fri Jan 21, 2005 8:24 pm

I´m in my new dynasty with the Cats and I´ve been having problems with trading draft picks... I have a lot of cap space so I´m trying stuff like Big Dog + Philly 1st round for jason hart, or Penny Hardaway + NY 1 round for Kareem Rush + Jamal Sampson... That kind of stuff.. I heard that if you took a big contract from another team they might give you their picks.. But it´s not working.. Nobody seems interested in trading picks.. Are there any techniques or tips to trade draft picks? or is it just imposible?

Thanx man.. It helps a little.. Has it worked for you? could you give a real example from one of your dynastys?

an example:

Jae™ wrote:I traded Jason Kidd for Ilgauskas and a 1st rounder before the 1st season had even started.

a hint:

MaD_hAND1e wrote:most of the good draft picks (bottom teams who have a high chance of getting the top picks) are really hard to trade for. You'd probably need a 70-85 rating guy to trade for a 1st round pick from the worst team in the league. You would probably be better off trading for the rookie you want when the draft is over.

and my personal experience:

i tried to trade a draft pick, but i finally didn't do this, because i accidently overwrote my raps dynasty....

but now, after the VC-Trade i started all over and i'm playin with the nets. (Vince is my fav-player, u c ?)

maybe i'll try to do this again
and if it works, i'll tell ya ;)

In more than 2 seasons in my dynasty with the Hawks, I have yet to trade for a draft pick or include one of mine in a trade. Has anyone ever did any test on this? Anyone on this board? What would you say is the approximate value of a early 1st rounder, late 1st rounder, early 2nd rounder, and late 2nd rounder?

I am asking for a simplistic answer like "early 2nd round might be a 65 ratings with an average contract size and of average age."Anyone has any idea on this?
