Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

For console users looking to update their rosters, I've released a Microsoft Access file containing data from the latest version of the NLSC roster update, which you can find
here. Please consult the readme.txt file for instructions and additional information about the database. PC users may also find it useful for updating Dynasties in progress, but make sure you backup your saved game before messing with the DBFs.

Yo Andrew,
Couldn't open the file, encountered a corrupt file message.
Sent it on to a mate through Hotmail, and Hotmail picked it out with a virus.
Was it working fine for you?

Working fine for me, and I've got up to date anti-virus software. However, Access files can have unsafe expressions, which is probably why Hotmail treated it as a virus. Which version of Microsoft Access do you have?
I could use Excel instead, but it doesn't allow the sorting that Access does.

I also can´t open the TextRoster file. In Access appears a error message that says something of the location of the file.

That's unfortunate. I might have to go with the Excel file after all. That's going to make updating the rosters a little more difficult, it will mostly just be a reference for the ratings. If anyone has been able to get it to work, please let me know.

Drew,
Using Access 2000.
Excel no probs for me mate if you can manage it.
Thanks for all your efforts so far anyways ... appreciate it.

I think I opened the file...
Just create few folders in C drive:
C:/ -> Andrew -> Test -> NLSC0405
'n then, copy a "player.dbf" file from ur saves into "NLSC0405" folder u just created.
To Andrew:
So, I just change ratings inside, 'n the copy player.dbf file back into my saves, rite?

That's right.

But make a backup of your saved game just in case something goes wrong.
Thanks for the feedback
vtsh090041, I believe I know how to fix the problem for future updates - I just need to include the dbf file and use a different folder.

Ok, so if the file wasn't working for me, can I now do something to open it so that it works?

The method that vtsh090041 described should work with Access 2000.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but both Excel and Access can open .dbf files. What else does this add to the table over the normal update?
Tue Jan 18, 2005 3:09 pm
For PC users, nothing. It's just the players.dbf file sorted by team and roster position so that you may make updates to a Dynasty in progress through DBF editing (make sure you backup your save files first!), but it's mainly for console users so that they may update their rosters and player ratings. It's just an easier way of presenting the relevant data.

It's the DBF from the latest version of the roster update. I'll have to include it with the Access file from now on.
