Suns' searching a backup center

Postby kibaxx7 on Sat Jan 15, 2005 8:41 am

I got a Suns Dynasty and now that Hunter is my backup center (he's coming for a 20 points-10 rebounds game for me), he is injured. I don't see Voskuhl taking his place. So I'm searching for a good backup center. Post your vote here, tell me what all of you think:

  • Eddy Curry
  • Erick Dampier
  • Marcus Camby
  • Elden Campbell
  • Dikembe Mutombo
  • Brian Grant
  • Stromile Swift
  • Nazr Mohammed
  • Mike Sweetney
  • Tony Battie
  • Kelvin Cato
  • Samuel Dalembert

I don't think you should look for a backup in starters.

Campbell, Mutombo, Grant, Swift, Sweetney are in the bench.
Cato and Battie are switching places in the lineup.

I say go for dalembert. I just cant think of the suns with someone like Swift added into the mix. Go for a guy rated in the 50s-62 maybe. Keep it realistic.

I'd check the free agent pool first. If Hunter's only going to be out for a little while, you don't need a great centre to replace him. That way, you don't have to sacrifice any of the players in your rotation to plug the hole in the middle.

If you can sign Mutombo as a bench player for a couple of years, I think that would be nice option; enhancing on the defensive end... (y)

Out of those players, I'd take McCoy too.

Right now I'm playing my game against the Mavericks... if Voskuhl gets 15+ points (I don't think so), I will keep him as backup center. If he gets 15-, I will get McCoy (Y)

Edit: If I sign Jelani I will be over the salary cap :(

I think Doleac, Mihm, Foster, or Loren Woods would make great additions whilst being moderately realistic.. although I can't imagine any of the clubs associated with those players agreeing to any trade u'd put on the table in real life (unless it was blatantly not in your favour)

Man I don't know what happened with that guy. He showed so much potential in Sac. I thought he was at least gonna be another Stromile Swift.

Clark played a phenominal year in Toronto before signing with the Sactown... He wasn't shown the big bucks so he's taking a year off... I don't get that... I would think the guy would want to play first and foremost.

Keon Clark had much to offer, but no one was willing to show him the money. He's currently a free agent or atleast that's the last I've heard of him. Don't be surprised if he doesn't play this year as he has made it clear that he wants the big bucks.

I did not mean he would be like Swift. I mean looking at Swift now that's how I thought Clark would be.
