How do I configure my controller? (I know I am stupid)

I go to controller config. during the game, fix it how I want it, and press Save As. I save it under a ame, go back to the game, and nothing has changed. What did I do wrong?

did u select that name when u in the select team screen.....i.e. delfault config will be whatever controller u have....like i have p880 and i saved mine as p881 so every time before i play when i put the controller over to my team i also have to change it from the default p880 configuration to p881...other than that all should be kosher bro

after u reconfig ur controller
goto the controller select screen then reselect your controller profile again
