Change the Hue/Saturation with Colorize. Thats for all jerseys. To change color the easy way.

no what you do is new layer add the color on the new layer then under blending mode multiply

if you have a white texture, first is to sharpen>unsharp mask, adjust amount and radius preferably at 1/3 before the maximum.

second is to adjust the brightness and contrast. lower the brightness and adjust contrast to your taste. have fun!
