Why should it be too much? The victims have lost their familly, their home etc... they're standing in front of the nothingness and the only thing we can do is to give something about what we have enough: money! They really need it more than we do and we really have enough of it.
I only fear that the most of the victims won't see something of the money because it might be that the money will be invested in rebuilding hotels at first.

That's the kind of thing that made me want to make this thread though, if people are saying slow down a bit maybe it means there's enough there already?

Thats exactly the thing that my mother and I talked about the other day, when the locals said on teh news they would never want to live on the coast again....

which means now all the beachside land, if/when it can be cleared will be filled with more hotels then before probably.

But I do hope that all the money finds its way to all the families.

Well, I think that all this money is well deserved, as most of the countries who are currently donating got richer and richer on Asia's back; by exploiting their resources and their unhabitants without rewarding them correctly. So, they should give even more.

actually cash donations is a bad thing....cause what happens here(and prolly most countries) is that the fat ministers(Members of Parliament etc) take at least 1/4 to 3/4 the money to buy themselves Big Mac's, Big Vechicles and build night clubs for their kids to own and fuck whores in......so I prefer if the surplus countries send aid and help in construction.....because 3/4 or more of the government here is very corrupt and couldnt care less if a lil 3 year old his homeless and lost his parents....

but yeh, I heard the countries r sending big bucks to wipe out the debt some of the countries that suffered the tsunami are facing......oh well I just went to a temple to help out and when u see the faces and the stories u cant help but cry inside......some of them just sit there on rubbel...still hopin that they may find their daughter or their house may magically reappear again and that they'll wake up from the nightmare.

but yeh, around 15,000 day per day in Africa due to disease...but prob is years and years theirs been alotta stuff goin there but ppl wont listen...they still pass on aids and kill of their ppl...

I dunno, all I know is I have alotta respect to all the countries who r helpin out and am most amazed by Schumacher who donated 10 million US by himself (y)

Isn't UNICEF in charge of the money and donations?

Tue Jan 11, 2005 7:16 am

Ya, its UNICEF. I think they take a percentage but its probably not that much.

Tue Jan 11, 2005 11:59 am

I have no idea where R3hAb KrItik is from, but here in australia we dont tax donations made to charities...

Tue Jan 11, 2005 12:27 pm

I was thinking the same thing after my church was even giving donations. I mean how much money does it actually take to repair all the stuff and to make everybody happy? are we going to have to give $1,000,000,000,000,000,000

Tue Jan 11, 2005 12:29 pm

Rehab Kritic or whatever is Najira I think.
