"NBA LIFE" maybe the perfect basketball name

this idea is buzzing in my head from about 1 year...here is it.
I think that you could combine a life simulation to a basketball game,as you can live the life of an nba player.
You can create a player for example,select your hometown where you will live...Miami for example.
So,you will live in a partially recreated Miami(you will have to live a bit like the sims,eat,sleep and the other most essencial things),and go around the city when you have free time.
Then you will go to the draft,be selected and go to the LA Lakers for example,so you will meet your teammates,head coach.....and you will have to go to the gym for practice everyday.
You will have a sort of calendar for your day,with the farious things you will have to do.
In a game you could select if being yourself and control only you or the entire team like in nba live.
You can also be invited to shows or be interviewed(you can choose the answers)
So,you know what i'm meaning now...maybe my dream will become true.

But there already is a game like that... ESPN NBA 2k5 has the 24/7 mode which originally came from NBA Street Vol. 2.

The only thing that will never be invented is being invited for an interview.

24/7 and NBA Street Vol. 2 have nothing in common... The idea sounds cool, but its waaay too deep. i just wanna play ball. this is why i wasnt a fan of the 24/7 mode.

sounds like a mod for the sims 2 wouldn't be hard to edit a career path to 'nba player', etc......i think that's as close as you'll get.

24/7 mode has a player basically play a bunch of different one on one games, and that's it. You don't participate in team practices, you don't take on the persona of a player and play only as that player in season games, through a career.

I think a mode where you'd be a player and play locked on that player in games would be great.

- Play the career of a player from college or even HS right through to the pros.
- Get drafted
- Workout / practice to improve skills
- Negotiate contracts
- Visit the coach to discuss your role on the team...getting a starting job, etc.
- During games, play only as that player - you
- Demand a trade, be a free agent, etc.

Live the life, at least from the basketball side, of a player from the beginning of his career to the retirement.

it'd suck being on the bench, especially since EA plays the higher rated players more no matter how good the lower rated guys are playing.

They should just copy Superstar mode in Madden 2006, but make it a bit deeper. I didn't like that you could decide your lineups, and that you don't have to really work your way through, but with some minor changes, it should be pretty good.

The usual problem with career modes is "what if you're stuck as a bench member?" Well the easy way to solve that is to allow the player to change team lineups...which is what Madden chose to do in its superstar mode.
I think another solution would be just to simulate until you are put back in the team. Or force a game over.
