Possible solution for player height issue

For the most part this years game has been very good. Yes, there are issues with fastbreaks on superstar etc, but this is definately good progress by EA. The other thing which has bothered me for some time has been the player height issue. Unfortunately this has killed the illusion/immersion factor for me compared to last years game.

So, it dawned on me that we could simply adjust the player height for all players (In this case by 6 inches) to emulate what we had the previous year. The results have been good IMO. The players no longer look like dwarfs with gigantic heads and I'm also able to better see and control the on-court action.

I'd like someone to try this and give some feedback. Btw, if anyone knows how to make these height adjustments while maintaining their actual height stat ingame, let me know. Thanks in advance.

It is a good idea, but I don't think that is possible...

It's not possible, the height stats would show as they are. So that means you would have Yao Ming running around being 7' 12 and Boykins being 5' 11 (A pity, he still wouldn't be 6 foot)

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I don't find their size a big issue though. I think that if we change the size and made the players bigger, that this would limit the nice court spacing.

In regards to court spacing I don't see any difference at all, although it's a good point to keep in mind. Quite honestly, I'm having a blast with the game now. It really doesn't bother me (Although I wouldn't mind a solution) concerning the in-game height issue, since all player heights were adjusted equally. The players look more realistic like they did last year height and size wise

One possible problem though...for dynasty mode...rookie heights...

Btw, if anyone is interested I can simply send you the appearance.dbf fix with the height adjustments and you can place it in your save folder (Just backup your original appearance.dbf file). If anything this will allow you to compare to the current player height, you can make a decision from that point. Quite frankly I believe you will be surprised what a difference this makes for the game. I've heard some complain about the feel of "detachment" one has when playing the game this year. This IMO addresses that problem, while correcting player size issues (Small legs, larger upper body, big head, mistaking Rasual Butler for Dwayne Wade, etc)
