Can anyone recommend a good joypad for this game on PC?

Hi,
I've been visiting NLSC for years, I remember downloading cyberfaces for NBA Live 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 ec. so I'm very happy to be a member of this forum. I don't know why I didn't register before!

I've recently ordered NBA Live 2005.

The Spec I have is:
3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 Processor.
1 Gigabyte of RAM.
CD-DVD RW Drive.
128 MB ATI Radeon Mobility Graphics Card.
100 GB Hard Drive.

I need to buy a gamepad to properly play this game and I'm wondering if anyone here could recommend a good one?
I know that I'd like a dual analog, 8 button pad, I've been trying to find if there's a Microsoft Sidewinder pad that would fit my requirements.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Get the Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog. It has more than enough buttons, all very well placed and ergonomic. It's also very cheap at $19.99 or less. The two analog sticks are required to do the fancy moves and dunk combinations and there are 4 shoulder buttons and 2 trigger buttons, as well as 4 face buttons, and a direction pad.

I have the WingMan RumblePad and it's working out just fine for me.
It's not a great gamepad, but I think it's quite good. It does the job for me.
It shouldn't cost very much nowadays either. But if your looking for a great gamepad another one might be a better choise.

i got the logitech dual action- and it sucks stay away from it.

so instead i got just a generic rip-off of the logitech.....it's by gamer's factory......been using it since 2004. great gamepad. (Y)

that's the one i have and i absolutely love it. no problems at all. i use with with nba, madden and fifa 2005 without any problems.

I've got a Saitek P3000 and it's working fine, but not particularly well, so you may want to buy one of those thrustmasters

PS2 controller with an adaptor...has worked perfectly for like 1 1/2 years.

maybe mine is just defective then- cause the playcalling buttons would never work right, and the left control stick would make you go in the wrong direction if you didn't push it all the way over

I have the Logitech Dual Action also and I have absolutely ZERO problems with it. However, I also purchased the newest version of the gamepad. Logitech Rumblepad 2. Its the same as the Dual Action but has force feedback and the analog mode can be toggled on and off. The force feedback can also be turned off right from the gamepad itself. MUCH more solid and durable than the first Dual Action.

Forgot to mention that Logitech made there new Dual Action Rumble pad 2 in a cordless version also! Although it sounds like i'm a pitchman for them I'm really not. There newest pad is that good though! The ONLY negative I've found so far is force feedback doesn't work with madden for some reason.

yea same with me, or if you're very partial to your X-Box controller, theres a way to cake ur X-Box controller USB and u can use that too

Logitech Dual Action gamepad its only $10 Canadaian so its probaly like $8 in the U.S. I use it and it works perfectly for Live and any other game./

wen i had live 04 i played on pc and used logitech dual action... i went through 2 of those in as many weeks

it kept breaking and it was a piece of shit

go with the ps2 controller with adapter... u can throw it multiple times and it wont break :crazy:

I heard that from lots of people that there dual action gamepad broke. I am using mine or 3 months and nothing happened to it yet.

I've been using my PS2 Controller for 2 years now, I got the Kiki joy-x adapter, and I yet to find a game that hasn't worked with it.

Is my pad OK for Nba Live 2005?. I have a MaxFire G-12U it has two analog sticks, I think its not dual, does it matter?. I can't use the quick gameplays either. So please help me.
