PC Bug?
I don't know if anyone has noticed this yet but my brother and I found this weird.
Training your players/team will increase your players'/teams' rating, no? Then, have you ever wondered why none of your players ratings remain unchanged? Take a look at your team's rating before a game (when you select your controller).
My solution: Try editing your player (like make him wear goggles and then remove) and see the results reflected in your ratings.
I've done this in my Dynasty mode using my whole Dallas (fantasy) team. Tell me what you think.

I'm not sure what you mean....first you talk about how training sessions affect your players/team ratings (which is infact the purpose of training)....but then you suggest to change your players look (like headbands and so on..) which has nothing to do with ratings.....
I'm a little confused.

Yeah me too, but changing looks do not effect team ratings...

i think what he means is that you can edit a players individual ratings 'by training' or by using a .dbf editor or ms excel or whatever but then when you look in the game roster screen his
overall will be unchanged. this is another EA bug.
in our non-modem league we have this pain eveytime we re-rate our players. the only way to make the game re-calc the players' overalls is by doing them one by one in the edit player screen, (which takes hrs). you go in and basically click 'done' & bingo the players' overall is recalc'ed.

by him changing goggles or whatever he would have to have clicked 'done' and this would have triggerred the recalc of the players overall - stoopid EA, (again)!

yeah the googles thing is bulls***, unless my game is 'faulty'. i just tried it.
he must have edited a player's position AND gear, then exited and noticed the changed rating.

he's talking about the game not visually reflecting the changes done after the training. for example, after several training sessions, the over-all rating of your players will remain the same. to fix this, go to the edit players section, choose a player and just click done (no need to change anything). you'll see that the over-all ratings of the player have been changed. all it does is recalculates your player's over-all rating. its been like this since live 2004.

Sorry I got you confused, guys. I'm glad someone managed to decode my message.
Since Live 2004?
Anyway, hope you guys catch the bug and have EA fix it, too.
Thanks.

No, it's not a bug. When you edit a player using .dbf, when you play the game the ratings seem unchanged but by just pressing the 'Done' button the ratings will be renewed with the one you edited. This has been going on since 2003 (I think). I've done alot of dbf editing while patching that's why I know this. You can check out by doing it with (Benji's rosters) Zydrunas Ilgauskas. His ratings (unchanged) is 78 but when you edit him and click done, it becomes a 73.

Then it IS a bug. Isn't it? Because if it isn't, should the edited ratings reflect automatically?
Both teams' and players' ratings don't really show their true (or altered) rating unless you click on 'Done' in edit players menu. I think this affects how the computer deals with you regarding trades, among others.
