Players' Different Jump Shots

Postby decadence on Sun Dec 05, 2004 12:10 pm

How many are they in live05?
i have seen 4:
-quick release
-release at the top of jump
-hang in the air then shoot
-shoots then does a long follow-through
How do I do the follow through shot? i did it accidentally and want to do it again.

Only a few show up in the 5 on 5 game but in the three point shootout you will notice a much wider range. Unless I'm mistaken, the field in the database that governs a player's style is THREEPTSTY (or something along those lines - I must get around to updating the DBF charts).

I believe it depends on how long you hold the shoot button. A quicker release on the shoot button results in a quicker (and in most cases poorer) release of the jumpshot.

follow-through shot: this is the shot where they still raise their shooting arm after they shoot the ball. Like how MJ did when he buried Utah in the '98 finals, only it's shorter than Jordan's pose. (got it?) I asked my friends about this and they are clueless.

I know I would love if you updated the DBF charts because then I would be able to make custom teams!!!

Easy!

Postby Tim*The King*Duncan on Tue Dec 07, 2004 12:58 pm

The follow through shot is easy to do. Its a very high percentage shot too. I use press box so bare with me. If your at the top of the screen, you hold down on the anolog then shoot. if your at the bottom of the screen then you hold right or left depending on your player. Its the most high percentage shot for a big man because its a much quicker release and its herder to block, vertually impossable! I found too many glitches and exploits in 2005 that makes the game too easy! I have pretty much a type of shot for most of the players that make it almost a sure shot.

A follow through shot is simple to do, but I don't really see it as high percentage.

To do it, you just time it like normal, but hold your movement keys (or stick) toward's the player's off hand. For example, Lamar should shoot falling right while Kobe falls left.
