NBA 2005 makes me verry angry

All the computer controled players are super defenders or attackers. How can a guard lick billups, atkins can block shaq or brad biller or webber? (in real bbal this is impossible). How can a center or a power forword block my center when i am going for the lay-up and he is far behind?( even if i am that player no center or power forword could block me that way). How can a power forword or a center controled by computer could be as fast asa kobe or as t-mac? For example when i pick an roll i manege to get kobe (t-mac, or other fast shouting guard) to be defended by a center. That center moves as fast as my guard. That is impossible in real basketball. Any Sg, Pg, Sf are shouting as good as ray allen.("with the hand in his face "). I recently played vs GSW and claxton and richardson could shout good with 2 players attemting to block them.
I play to win and when all the centers, and PF are as fast as a guard or when the C or PF could block you licke that from behind, or when an attacjer shouts from down town with 2 on him an my player Peja can't do that when he is not defended i get verry angry. This is not just me. I have 2-3 friends that get angry(mad) too. One of them broke a woredrobe door with his fist when his player gor blocked from behind( witch in that fase was impossible).

Dude you probably need to adjust you sliders settings thats all,makes for a much better and more realistic game.Just check out the sticky post for slider settings.

You're not the only one who's angry at the game... well, I wouldn't go as far as to punch things like I did when I was younger, but I'd simply quit the game. While I like the improvements they made on certain aspects, the game's issues are big issues.

yeh the shootng thing is very bad, I traded way all my Pistons team to get the best shooters like Dirk and Peja. Peja is like the best at 3pt shooting and he can barly make a midrange Jumpshots, and he realy cant make a 3. I mean he is wide open 3-4 times a game and just cant hit them. It just seems that unless ur player is 90+ at shooting he cant make consistant jumpshots.

Plus i think the worst thing about the animation is that the player shows the ball too much while doing a lay-up, thats why CPU blocks so much.

i dont have a problem knocking down 3s, and i play on superstar

and i dont even have some of the best shooters in the league. players like Wade, Lewis, D. Anderson all shoot very well for me. just shoot in the flow of the game and learn when to release for each player.

I've also had problems with the shooting...but after changing some of the sliders, I was able to hit around 42% for the game (I was shooting sub-30% before...strange since I was able to regularly shoot 60% on superstar in 2004)...

I also think EA has changed the timing of the shots (with regards to where the player hits the "peak" of his jump) compared to 2004...so that built-in rhythm won't work in '05; I think you need to stay up for another split-second.

maybe u should try playing when you're a little bit cooler... playing games are supposed to be fun, enjoy it, don't take losses too seriously.. just my two cents.

At first...shooting was difficult for me also. But, I learned to release at the right times and shoot when appropriate (ie. not guarded) For all the problems you guys speak of, even the shooting woes can be changed with sliders. The only problems I still have are too many blocked shots and too few fast breaks for me. But otherwise, the game is great!!!

In other words, some of us are really competitive, and in being competitve we do take the games seriously. But then again, I do respect your opinion because it is only a computer game after all

but anyway... is the game really that bad? a lot of the problems make it sound like the game is not playable e.g. the fast break stop and catch problem, the curving passes, slow passing, blocked jumpshots etc.

I find the game too easy since I win by at least 20 against any opponent, and dunking happens a little too often, even with sliders set to low

The shooting in this game is unrealistic. Those people who reply they have no problem hitting open jumpers are probably using "User" controlled shots and they are good at timing the release.

I prefer "CPU" because I want the shooting to be a reflection of the the player's ability, not my ability to time a shot.

This game makes me very angry too. I can have a great 3 point shooter wide open, feet set, facing the basket and miss several in a row. The computer, however, can hit any shot in any double team at any time. The only way to win is to fast break and shoot inside shots all day.

This is unrealistic. Basketball is a mid range game. Sure, the inside is important, but ultimately defenses can bear down. This opens up the 15 to 20 footers.

I haven't watched an NBA game yet that has 30 dunks per game. Usually you see only about 3 or so.

While this may be the best basketball game out there, it is still very unrealistic. Like Tiger Woods golf, very "arcadish". I want a more realistic simulation. I think EA does better with Madden where gameplay at least attempts to mimic the real sport.

ive noticed a lot of people getting dissapointed...if u guys doesnt like the game then play other games...a game is a game...as far as the saying goes u can never please everybody...take it like this...if u dont like the game just dont play it...than play it and play it and play it and play and then just talk things like this about it...go back to nba live 2003 like that one dude in this board...lolz..

I own the game and it dosent have as much as BS as this game.

i think the shooting is very good in this game, almost like nba live 95
the blocks are sometimes too much

but in order to win u have to consertrate of the defense, try to keep the pc on 0 points

the defense i use is gaurding with an athleatic power forward outside and when (and if) the ball goes inside i can get back to help the gaurd or whomever is gaurding my man out

Whats wrong with this game? I just got it today and I'm loving it, the physics of the whole game, all the players and the ball is so real. I'm finding that I'm losing to the computer by 22 points at the half, and have to struggle to catchup, which is a breath of fresh air compared with trying to let the computer beat you in live 04/03. Dunk contest is awesome! The commentary is crack up as, especially when I don't know much dunks

Strangly enough I dont have any problems with the game. I think its just the fact that you and your friends suck at this game.

I think that most users use the shot control as CPU...

The shooters have good days and bad days... And sometimes you can't buy a basket and the cpu does what ever he wants... This is a time to cool things down with a timeout... Change the pace of the game or something...

The shooting is fine... There is no problem with it... Just don't force the shots... I didn't manage to hit anyhitng when I tried to force shots with Ray Allen.
