THE SEARCH FOR THE BEST ROSTER 2005 (Go VA)

Sat Dec 04, 2004 7:25 am

Whassup NBA LIVE grupees. I started this post at first to brag, but then it was more of a discovery thing. (You know how we Virginians do it.) Anywayz, I was wondering if my roster is the best out there, and what rosters other people had in their dynasties.

*Remember to add it if you fantasy drafted; and a little background info on your team - any major trades and stuff like that.

Fantasy Draft: No
Team Rating: 94
Dynasty Season: 2
Current Record: 1-1

STARTERS:

C: Dirk Nowitzki (who I strongly believe is the best player in the NBA)
PF: Antawn Jamison
SF: W. McCarty
SG: T. Mac (acquired along with Jim Jackson and Clarence Weatherspoon for G. Arenas, Ricky Davis, and Raef Lafrentz in a trade over the summer)
PG: J. Jackson

Backups

Juan Dixon
Anthony Peeler
Wang Zhi Zhi
Courtney Lake (CPU-generated Rookie SF)
Michael Bradley
Leo Radwan (CPU-generated Rookie C)
Clarence Weatherspoon

Background Info
Last Season: 52-30

This Season: 1-1

Well you know…this could all be 'proven' statistically through the Birdie Board when you finish your first season of your dynasty  (hint hint hint) Then we we can see not only how your roster rates…but how you play too...

Hmmm here's my Starting 5:

C. Shaq
PF Brian Cook
SF Grant Hill
SG Tracy McGrady
PG Chucky Atkins

Not necessarily the best... but you can do a lot worse!

Memphis Dynasty

C- Lorenzen Wright
PF- Ryan Humprhy
SF - Vince
SG - Mcgrady
PG - Kobe Bryant

The memphis roster really has alot of assets that other teams need.

tjspyder18, where do u live in VA?

Do you actually have fun playing with a stacked team? I'd get board.

yup even id get bored....cause theres no fun in playing with a team that has t-mac, dirk, twan on it.....id go for a CHALLENGE factor instead of a GLITZ factor.

i don't even have that highly rated of a team, but i feel like they're even too stacked just because of all the options i have. i'd hardly call a stacked team the "best". you should change the name of this thread from "best" to "stacked"

seriously, though.....when my league did an "expansion" draft last year (it was actually a downsize draft- only had 12 teams so we did a draft to get players from non-active teams), it totally ruined it....too many good players=no fun (for me)

I guess the reason I don't feel like having a stacked team is bad is cuz I mean, I had to use trades to get those players, you know, so it's like the Mavs must have been stackd in the first place to have players that could be traded for superstars. (I mean, look at last year's Mavs roster - Jamison, Nowitzki, Finley, Nash, Howard, - on the SAME TEAM?)

Also, I'm not saying that stacked teams work out the best, but my team works well together. Nowitzki is the only one averaging over 25 PPG and all the starters get high assists - and I'm playin' on Superstar with no adjusted sliders (besides Substitution Frequency and Fatigue on 46) so I really do get the Challenge Factor and I mean I don't feel like I'm cheatin' the comp.

Either way, thanx for replyin' my post. :D I just wanted to get some feedback . Ya know? :?:

:!: PS - ruffryder i live in Dumfries, Northern VA (near Woodbridge and Dale City) 5min from Manassass and 30 from Alexandria/Fairfax
