Amare Stoudemire and the Phoenix Suns take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on ESPN tonight.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- The Cavaliers face their first Western Conference team of the season. The Suns are 3-1 and are leading the Pacific division. Phoenix's only lost came from the Atlanta Hawks, who the Cavaliers beat last night after a thrilling come from behind victory. The Suns are coming off a 107-76 blowout win over the Chicago Bulls.

The addition of Steve Nash made the Suns an immediate playoff contender in the Western Conference. Many thought since having no big man made them an average team, but they are proving people wrong. Nash averages a team-high 21.0ppg and 8.3apg. Joe Johnson has improved himself since last season averaging 20.0ppg, 4apg and 4rpg.

The Cavaliers have a 4-0 start which is the best start in franchise history. "The players are really having fun and we are just taking one game at a time," Coach Silas said. The Cavaliers are back home after finishing their 3 game road trip. Tonight's game won't be on local television because ESPN is televising the game.

Al Harrington and the Atlanta Hawks will go against the Cavaliers tonight in Phillips Arena

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- The Cavaliers will finish out their 3 game road trip tonight against the Atlanta Hawks who are 1-2 in the season. Cleveland is 2-0 on the road trip and 3-0 overall.

Atlanta's 1-2 combo of Al Harrington and Antoine Walker has led them in each game this season. Walker is playing all-star basketball with 23.3ppg, 10.7rpg and 4.3apg, while Hiarrington averages 19.3ppg and 11.7rpg for the Hawks. Cleveland overall as a team can stop those two players from going off. They can also lock the other players down and force those two to do everything.

Lebron James, Jeff McInnis, Drew Gooden and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are all averaging double figures for the Cavaliers through three games. The team activated forward Aleksandar Pavlovic to give them a better outside shooting threat.

The two sophmores will go at it tonight on TNT

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- The Cavaliers are coming off a 105-95 win over the Indiana Pacers. They are playing back-to-back games already in the 1st games of the season. The Miami Heat is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the New Jersey Nets losing 98-94. Lebron James almost had a triple double in the Cavs win with 34 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Shaquille O'neal dominated against New Jersey with 35 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks.

This will be the first game of a 3 game road trip for the Cavaliers. The other two teams they play are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks.

The Cavaliers will use Ilgauskas, Diop and Traylor tonight on O'neal. Diop did not play last night, so he will get the majority of the minutes off the bench behind Ilgauskas. "We know what Shaq is very capable of doing," Cavs coach Paul Silas said. "We will try and front him as much as possible in the post, while having someone else standing behind him." The Heat havep lenty of shooters who can make their shots, but Silas would rather take a chance on jump shots than easy shots in the lane.

Jermaine O'neal (left) and Lebron James (right) will battle tonight against each other

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers will open up their season against the Indiana Pacers. INdiana was tied for the league's best record holding a 61-21 record during the 2003-04 season. Cleveland is coming off a 35-47 season with rookie Lebron James earning Rookie of the Year honors.

Lebron averaged 20.9ppg, 5.9apg and 5.5rpg for the Cavaliers last season. Jermaine O'neal was a top 5 MVP canidate from last season as he averaged 20.1ppg, 10rpg and 2.5bpg for the Pacers.

Tonight's matchup should be a close one. Drew Gooden has became a rebounding machine and Lebron is turning into a more mature player. Lebron will have to watch out for Ron Artest who is a headache to deal with on the defensive end.

After speaking to Cavs coach Paul Silas about the season opener he said, "This is an exciting night for the Cavalier fans and the team. We must come out with alot of intensity and finish with alot of intensity in order for us to win. The Pacers are an elite team in the league and it won't be an easy task for us to beat them. I want the players to go out and have fun tonight, but at the same time I want them to get the win as well," Silas said.

Cleveland Got the Best of the Bucks
Jeff McInnis was the unsung hero of this game

McInnis had a season-high with 24 points along with 7 assists against the Bucks

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin Nov.6 (Ticker) -- After most of the attention focused on Lebron James, the Bucks basically forgot about the other four players on the court with him. Lebron always makes his teammates better and in this case he did that tonight against the Bucks.

In the 1st quarter, it was all Lebron as he scored 10 of the Cavaliers 19 points in the period. Milwaukee's Michael Redd couldn't handle Lebron one on one, and it cost them big time early in the game. Redd had two early fouls in the quarter, but that didn't keep him from doing what he had to do for his team. He finished the 1st quarter with 14 of the Bucks 19 points. "His release is so quick, that it's hard to contest the shot and that's just something he is very superior with," Lebron said. Neither team was able to shoot well from the field in the 1st quarter with both teams scoring just 19 points in the quarter.

Cleveland was able to get some ground going up by 5 points after McInnis made a three with 7:32 left in the 2nd quarter. The three pointer gave him 11 points for the first half. Milwaukee had nobody to step up for them in the 2nd quarter except for Redd and Van Horn. Redd and Van Horn combined for 18 of the Bucks 22 points in the 2nd quarter. The amount of depth and balance on the Bucks team offense caused them to lose the game.

Keith Van Horn and Michael Redd were the only two Bucks players to score in double figures. They combined for 52 points with Redd leading them with 35 points. Lebron James had another solid game for the Cavaliers with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The Bucks were only able to shoot 33% from the field during the game, while the Cavs shot 40%. "Even though we shot bad from the field, we still had more players involved in the game which brought us to victory," Paul Silas said.

The turning point of the game came in the 2nd and 3rd quarters where the Cavaliers outscored the Bucks in those quarters and in the 1st and 4th quarters, the scores were tied. "It was good that our players weren't tired during the 2nd quarter and we came out strong in the 3rd to try and finish the Bucks off," assistant coach Brendan Malone said. Cleveland couldn't connect on free throws shooting 26-37 from the line, while the Bucks shot 19-20. "This is something we must improve on along with our 3 point shooting. If they would've attempted more FT's than we did, they could've won this game," Silas said. The Cavaliers will finish out the 3 game road trip against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.

After letting the shot clock run down to 7 seconds, Lebron took control and went inside strong for the layin that gave him 24 points for the game and tied the game up 102-102 with 22.7 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Inside the NBA with Kenny "The Jet" Smith, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and Ernie Johnson

Image
Welcome everyone to Inside the NBA. I'm Ernie Johnson along side Kenny "The Jet" Smith, Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson. You have just watched the Cavaliers take on the Miami Heat with Cleveland coming out in overtime with the one point victory over the Heat. Miami falls to 0-2, while the Cavs move to 2-0. Lebron James had another great performance with 30 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Minnesota played at Denver tonight and we're able to win a game on the road 96-94. Latrell Sprewell led the Timberwolves with 27 points and 5 rebounds. The Timberwolves were one of the best road teams last season as well. Washington defeated the new expansion team the Charlotte Bobcats 77-62. Jamison scored 33 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.

Image
I'm very impressed with Lebron James so far in the season. He is almost averaging a triple double and he has brought his game to the extreme. He is leading this Cleveland team to a playoff berth no doubts about it.

Image
You have to love Lebron's game. Alot of people doubted him about getting ROY because they thought Carmelo deserved it more, but Lebron is showing why he deserved that award. He had 34, 9 and 9 last night and 30, 12 and 9 tonight. He will be one of the great ones soon. There's nobody in the league playing better than him right now. I know it's early in the season, but he can be a potential MVP canidate and can win the award!

Image
Lebron was amazing tonight. I have to give it to him, but I'm not going to go jumping on the bandwagon just yet. It's only the 2nd game of the season and anything can happen in the next 80 games. If he is still playing well midway through the season, I can say that he is an MVP canidate, but not right now. He has alot more tasks to accomplish this season, like getting his team to the playoffs.

Image
How can you not say that he won't be a MVP canidate? He has had two straight games where he has almost had a triple double. Can you see that this kid is for real? Charles you always hatin' on the young cats because your getting too old and fat.

Image
Whatever Kenny, I'm not going to talk about your ignorance on opening night of the show.

Image
Well, that's it for tonight folks. We will see you next time on Inside the NBA. I'm Ernie Johnson along with Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson. Goodnight.

Lebron James, who finished with 39 points, with the electrifying two-hand dunk

CLEVELAND, Ohio Nov.3 (Ticker) -- Gund Arena was the place to be tonight as the Cleveland Cavaliers put on a big time performance for the fans. Lebron James was unbelievable in the game. The Cavs was coming into the game as the underdogs and they showed why they are serious this season. Cleveland got stops when they needed them, and played like a veteran team.

During the 1st quarter, the Cavaliers weren't shooting well from the field. They shot 39% from the field, while the Pacers shot 48%, but Cleveland was able to stay close throughout the quarter. Zydrunas Ilgauskas shined for the Cavaliers as he scored 6 points and grabbed 2 rebounds during the 1st quarter. Jermaine O'neal scored 8 points to lead the Pacers in the quarter and also had 4 rebounds.

The Cavaliers came into the 2nd quarter with fire in their eyes. They started the quarter on a 8-0 run that was led by Lebron James who had two highlight dunks in the quarter. The dunks had the Cavaliers pumped up and the crowd became very loud. Jeff McInnis and Drew Gooden then went off in the quarter, scoring 12 points on five straight possessions for the Cavs. The Pacers could not do anything during the quarter. Jermaine O'neal only scored 2p oints in the 2nd quarter. Lebron had finished the quarter with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists to lead the Cavs. Jamaal Tinsley was forced into taking shots with the Cavaliers pressuring O'neal and Artest. Tinsley shot 2-8 from the field in the 2nd quarter and finished the game shooting 4-18 from the field. Cleveland led 61-51 at the end of the 1st half.

The Pacers we're able to slow the Cavs momentum down during the 3rd quarter. They became more involved in going down low to O'neal and not settling for jumpshots. Indiana went on a small run that cu the Cavaliers deficit to two points, but Cleveland was able to hang on during the quarter and tried to run some clock. The Pacers outscored the Cavaliers 23-17 in the 3rd quarter. At the end of the quarter, Cleveland led 78-74. Lebron James led Cleveland with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Jermaine O'neal already had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Indiana.

During the 4th quarter with only 44 seconds into the period, Lebron dished out his 7th assist of the game to Robert Tractor Traylor who got the layup and the foul on Jeff Foster, but he missed the free throw. Cleveland was up 82-76 after the sequence. Lebron extended the Cavaliers lead to 10 points after driving in for the layup with 8:33 left in the quarter. Drew Gooden was able to get a block on Jermaine O'neal wtih 2:02 left in the period. The Cavs were up 103-92 and had control of the ball. Lucious Harris made a jumper off a Lebron assist to give the Cavs their largest lead of the 2nd half leading 105-92 with just 1:41 left in the game. The Pacers were forced to call a timeout after the Cavs were outscoring them 27-18 in the quarter. After stopping the Pacers on their next few possessions, the Cavs were able to run the clock out. Lebron James played 41 minutes and led Cleveland with 34 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals.

Who Will Rise, Who Will Sink--November 1, 2004

By Khalid Salaam

With all the trades that went on in the off-season, you really can't tell who will have breakout seasons. It's a toss up in the air of who will really do some damage this season, but I got a way of finding things out and here is my little evaluation of how the season will go:

I know fo' sho' that the Twolves will come out on top in the Northwest division, mainly because they got the best damn player in the league with Garnett running the show. Cassell and Spreewell been whining about not getting the contracts they want, but they will come together sooner or later and the Twolves will be back in business.

It's kinda hard to say who will come out of the Pacific division, but I see the Kings still winning that division. The Suns got the young gunz with Nash who can run you out the gym, but the Kings have been playin' with each other for a long time. Even without Divac, they will still be the team to beat in the Pacific division. Webber will have a big season and that's comin' from me.

The Southwest division is one hard ass division in the West and is the hardest in the entire league. Every team made the playoffs last season in that division and the newcomers Hornets will most likely finish last in that division because they just can't compete with the other four teams. I got those Spurs coming out in that division. Ginobili is a tru' baller and if they start him and give him the minutes, he will lead them probably to another championship with the help of Tim Duncan of course duh...The Mavs will finish 2nd in the division after gettin' Dampier in the off-season, they will finally have some damn defense on the squad. Some defense to go along wtih alot of offense will make Dallas a scary team.

Going to the East, I see that they are stronger every since gettin' Shaq Daddy. The Atlantic division got alot of subpar teams in there, but I have a feelin' that the Knicks will come out in that division. Things in Toronto haven't been that good wit' VC asking for a trade. Isiah brought in Jamal Crawford who can ball his ass off, but you got to remember you have Marbz too. In the Central division you got the Pacers coming out in that one. Detroit was a 1-year wonder if you really think about it. Indy got the depth on the bench to win out that division. There's another team that has a dude on there name Lebron James...Aww yea, he play for the Cavaliers. Don't sleep on this team because they look better than last season and with a more matured LBJ, expect this team to get to the playoffs.

The Heat will win the Southeast division hands down, but the Magic is a team that alot of people haven't mentioned since trading Tmac to the Rockets. You can't forget about The Franchise because he is an all-star player. You also got the number 1 pick in the draft with Dwight Howard. Grant Hill has recovered from injury and he will try and have a breakout year this season.

That's it for now people. I gave you my analysis and wait til' next month to see who lived up to all the hype and who didn't.

For more on the season preview, pick up SLAM 90

Also, just in case some of you didn't know, SLAM is a street magazine so that's why I made the language different in my writing. I thought it made it very realistic and you will be able to tell the difference between this mag and the Cavs magazine. I would like to also thank CK for the mag.

Naw its not reserved

Well it probably is because if I was going to start over, I wasn't going to make it another Memphis dynasty. This dynasty will be a little better than the Memphis one because there was some stuff I wanted to do in the Memphis one, but just didn't think about it in time. I'm still the biggest Grizz fan probably on this board  , but I'm going to stick with this dynasty and I'm going to make sure I don't mess up the dynasty to make it crash as well. I'm still getting some things together for the dynasty and I should start playing games in another day or so. If you liked my Grizz dynasty you will like this one.

dez, too bad you have to retire your griz dynasty just like Coach Hubie. :D

But i know i can still expect the same in this dynasty maybe even better, but honestly when i think of you, the griz will be the first in my mind.

well goodluck to you with this one.

i will give you some tip, don't know if you already doing it.
try saving not on your previous save. made 2 saves for your dynasty. just after the 1st game save it, then next game save it on slot2. the third on slot1 and so on alternately. so if you messed up the 1, you only lag just 1 game. also i try to made a back-up let say every 5 games, i copy my save and put it in different folder, just in case...

again bro goodluck and i'l always check it..
