I need more money....

Postby optikus on Fri Sep 17, 2004 10:30 pm

Hi,
i'was starting a dynasty. I played with Knicks, but these have too little money.
If i'm wanted to buy an Superstar-Free Agent, there are no money. At the beginning i was starting with -200.032 Points.
I'dont want to wait, i want to get more points/money now.
Is there a possibility to get more points/money??? Cheating????

Thanks.

if you have the pc version ... then there is a "cheat"

you need a dbf editor (http://www.dbcommander.com)... and you can change the salaries of every player on your team ... that way you can clear a lot of cap room.

Of course, I don't recommend it ... takes away from the fun of the game. But hey, if you want to do it, then go ahead.

^, you shouldnt have told him, that blows, "ya lets just pay my 90 overall superstar 40,000 points/2 million a yr". That blows and is just garbage. You should be a man and clear cap space the real way, by trading expensive players for cheap players with the same or close to overall.

If you want a superstar your most likely going to have to give up a superstar. Play the right way or don't bother posting your dynasty. You won't get very many encouraging posts if you cheat.

Right ... trade expensive players for draft picks right before the trading deadline, gives you instant cap space. Or trade your players for others with expiring contracts. I am in the 04/05 season with my Hornets dynasty (sig link) and have traded for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who is a) a very good player and b) has a huge expiring contract now. I'll trade him for a draft pick later in the season and will instantly be able to sign one of the bigger freeagents still available.

Why don't you let him decide for himself how he likes to play the game?

There's an easier way: edit the salary.ini file in your Live 2004 main folder, where the salary cap is fixed. But then, every team will have its salary cap increased!

You also have to keep in mind that, like in real NBA, most of NBA Live teams are over the salary cap. That's not easy I know to sign players that want over the minimum salary, but you have to cope with it. And there are some teams like Atlanta who gets a lot of free salary cap at the end of the first season as they don't have a lot of players under contract remaining

what you say is pretty fun as Allan Houston was left available during expansion draft and Bobcats chose not to pick him because of his big salary and his collapsing potential :) So I'm not sure that the Bobcats would give the promising Brezec for Houston even now :)
