I'm in Heat!!!

Postby Seonadancing on Tue Nov 30, 2004 3:35 am

I'm playing with the Miami Heat and i am now 20 games into my second season. I'm playing on 7 minute quarters on Superstar level and i tweaked the sliders like that posted on .org.

In my first season.

- I won the championship. Losing only one game in the playoffs.
- Shaq was the Finals MVP.
- Shaq failed to win the regular season MVP even when he averaged 29.9pts, 11.3 rebs, 3.65 blks, 1.5 assits, and less than 1 steal. Garnett took the MVP whille averaging 22pts, 13 rebs, 1.65blks, 4 assts, 1.28 stls. I think shaq should have won the MVP.
- Shaq was All-NBA 1st Team, and All-Def 2nd Team
- Ben Wallace was the DPOY
- Wade was all-def first team averaging almost 4 stls a game.
-Shaq won East player of the month honors 5 times.

Eddie Jones wasn't really a factor on my team, Udonis Haslem was the second top scorer at 15pts/game and wade was the 3rd at 9pts/game. My game was focused mainly on Shaq of course, his go to move is a post up spin to the baseline on to a 2-hand slam, unstoppable!

- Wade did win the rookie game MVP, he was also part of the Slam Dunk contest.
- The rookie of the year was Dwight Howard.

I play all 82 games and for the playoffs, i had it set at best of 5 for all rounds. 7 games is just too long. I lost the 1st game in the 1st round against milwaukee but won all the games after.

I think the reason why Shaq didn't win the MVP was because he missed a few games. He got injured and was out for like 12 games. He was injured a few more times during the regular season but wasn't bad enough for him to miss games.

The highlight of my Post season was during the Finals, i was against Sacramento and i was down 3 with 5 seconds to go. Wade inbounded the ball to eddie jones and jones made the 3!!! I won the game on overtime and miami was up 1-0 in the Finals. Shaq got injured in the 4th quarter of that game that's why i had to come from behind. He was able to play in OT so i was able to beat Sacramento.

Wang Zhizhi was a great back up center for Shaq, i used him more than i used Doleac. Wang averaged a double double when he started during o'neal's injury. The only thing that annoyed me was the stadium announcer kept on calling him Zhizhi Wang!!! They don't call Yao Ming, Ming Yao do they??? Doleac played great when he played but I like Wang.

Rasul Butler was a more consistent 3-point shooter than Eddie Jones. And i used Keeyon Dooling as my back up PG even though Damon Jones is the back up in real life.

Wesley Person is not a good 3 point shooter either, i wanted to trade him but no team is interested. I didn't want to re-sign after him after the season but i didn't want to re-sign eddie jones too, who was asking for $15M for 2 yrs!!! Person was only asking for $4.5M so i took him.

Live 2005 has the best off-season yet. I scouted 5 players but the 3 that caught my attention was a

7'5 center, Bashini Long, projected to be an early second round pick.
7'2 PF, Stephon Parker, projected to be undrafted.
7'0 SF, Rodrick Wolf, projected to be the 2nd pick.

i also scounted a 6'8 PG but he got chosen early. Wolf was gone at number 2 but i was able to draft Parker and Long. :D

Before the draft i played with my scouted players and i think that was a cool feature this year. The reason why i was so interested with Wolf was, he was able to spin and cross-over without losing the ball. It was great to see a player that tall handle the ball so well.

I looked around for possible trades and i found Grant Hill with Golden State. I tried to trade Wesley Person, Doleac and Damon Jones for Hill and some trash players but Golden State didn't agree to my proposal. I was going to let go of the trade with GS but i saw that they were the ones who picked Wolf! I then offerd Doleac and a rookie PG for Wolf and they accepted the trade  . They had high interest for a center, so its either i give up Wang or Doleac.

So for season 2, my starting 5 consists of

7'1 Shaq
7'2 Parker
7'0 Wolf
6'5 Sarault (Undrafted RC)
6'4 Wade

Key Subs

7'5 Long
6'8 Haslem
6'7 Rasual Butler
6'6 Person
6'4 Dooling

I gained more than 10k dynasty points during my 1st season so i used the points to train my players. Everybody improved on some categories but Shaq didn't improve on one single category. I'm training my players for shooting and offense because most of my rookies sucks at free throws.

i'm currently 20-0. Shaq is leading the league in points at 33pts/game, and blocks at 2.86blks/game.

Wade is #7 in assists at 6.8. I never really got it going when it came to assists during my 1st season. My whole team just averaged 16.8, and wade averaged just 4.5 assist. Right now my team is making 21 assits/game. I'm making more inside passes now and i found out how to make it an assists when you pass the ball to the post.

I used to just pass the ball to the post and have my player back up their defender and score, but to get an assist, my post player should be backing up his opponent already and he is now in the box, so when i pass the ball to him, he will just immediatle go up for the shot or dunk. :D

I'm also trying to make more perimeter shots since that's an easy way to get an assist. my SG Sarault is not that good a shooter but he's making some so he's ok.

I have a weird way of substituting my players. I start with my starting5, then with 2 minutes left in the 1st quater i sub all of them to my second5. Then i start the 2nd quarter with my 1st five again and let them play the whole period. Then with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter i sub them with my second5 again. With about 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter i get my 1st 5 in there again and let them play the rest of the game. Unless i had a player injured or in foul trouble, this is how i play the game

Rookie Update

My PF, Stephon Parker, won the east rookie of the month for november. He is currently averaging 16 pts and 10.4 rebs.

My SF, Rodrick Wolf, is average 9 points, 3 rebs, and 3 assists, i seldom used him as a scoring threat the first few games but i am now. He moves like Kobe he's 7 feet tall. He can shoot from the outside and he's a great dunker. He could be unstoppable but Shaq is still my primary scorer.

My back up center, Bashini Long, is averaging 5 pts and 4 rebs off the bench. He's going to get his playing time if i can't re-sign Shaq after the season. The salary cap is great! It adds another dimension to the game and i like it.

My SG, Toni Sarault, is just a temporary part of my Starting line up until i get a better replacement on next year's draft. He's a good rebounder though but he can't spin without losing the ball so that sucks. Maybe a few more training sessions will make him better but i'd like a tall SG.

Last season's draft strenght was very good, and this year its only average. I have scounted some players but i think i'm going for another 7 foot SF and another 7'5 center. They are both projected to be drafted after the 1st round so i think i can draft both. When i do, i'll move Wolf to SG and put my other 7 foot SF on SF. :D But i'll have to wait until the next season.

wow.....you sure do seem to know what you're doing with this journalism. it's top-notch (Y)........i think you need a bit more organization though. since you have a bunch of posts by yourself at the top, i might suggest organizing it like this, for example:

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=19243

That is my new one I just started (my Nets dynasty is also on this board, I'm in the 2nd season), so there isn't much info there, but that is kind of a good way to keep things organized. then you can just update those first few posts with new info and things, then people can reply, and you can reply to them in new posts, and make a new post for each game recap, trade, etc.

i'm willing to keep reading, though, if that's your choice. i just think with how good you're doing already just with text, you could have an elite dynasty in no time with some organization and graphics. (Y)

good luck! :)

EDIT: btw, in text it's Zhizhi Wang, but when you say it properly, it's last name first. Actually, his jersey should say "Zhizhi", not "Wang". That's how it was in 2004, haven't seen him yet in 2005.

I played 3 more games today and i won them all. I've been winning games by 40 games but Cleveland gave me a hard time. For some reason Shaq don't play very well against Ilgauskas, Shaq's usual Monster Slams becomes ballet shots in front of Ilgauskas, and it's very annoying.

Regulation time ended at 65 all. This was a low scoring game for me bec i usually score around 90 in a game. Cleveland was stealing and blocking most of my shots and they held Miami to 10 points in the 3rd quarter. James was on fire scoring 22 points. Shaq fouled out 30 seconds into the OT and scored just 15pts and pulled down 11 rebs, not a good night for him. The player of the game was Stephon Parker, scoring 22 points and grabing 9 rebs, but the best player of the overtime is Bashini Long, stepping in for the fouled out Shaq, he score 8 points in OT and grabbed 3 rebs.

I also played against Toronto and for some reason their rating is 94, Miami is only rated 87. They also gave me a difficult time but not as close as Cleveland. Alston was shooting the lights out and his Rookie back up was also lighting it up. Most of the teams are rated very high because of the very strong rookie class.

Golden State didn't give much of a fight so that is not worth mentioning. But it seems like the Rookie PG i traded to them for Wolf was pretty good. I still think that i got the better end of the deal though. :D

Played a few more games again today. Wade got his second triple double of the season, 20pts, 14stls, and 10 assists, 3 rebs, 1 blk. The number of steals was the most i've ever gotten in the game. Wade is averaging 4.85 stls in 33 games. Miami is 33-0 now. :D

Shaq was the East player of the month for December averaging 33.4pts, 10.6 rebs, 3.65 blks, 2.6 assts, and .85 stls.

My Rookie PF, Stephon Parker, was beaten in the East rookie of the month award, Philidelphia's rookie forward got the award even if i had higher scoring and rebound averages, 16 pts 9.6 rebs 2.8 assits. Philidelphia's rookie did have a more balanced stats.

I think i mentioned that all the teams in my Dynasty gained very good rookies because the draft strenght is very good. For example, the Lakers is rated 96 and Phoenix is ranked 98!!! Phoenix has a losing record though. The Laker's rookie center, Sadiku Choi, is the west rookie of the month.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm playing on PS2 so no way to get pictures posted, sorry. :D

Well my 33 game win streak ended against the Atlanta Hawks!!!!! They beat Miami 77 -71. Antoine Walker was all over the place getting 15 rebs against my 7 footers!!! He had 7 offensive rebs against Shaq!!! I was down 9 with 2 minutes to go and i was able to cut the deficit down to 2 with 30 seconds left, unfortunately Shaq wasn't able to score on 2 posessions and i lost the game. Everyone in my team had an off game so i wasn't surprised. Al Harrington and Josh Childress lead the way for Atlanta. They are rated 88 and they beat me!!!

I won against the Spurs in my next game, the Spurs is rated 97 and their record was 30-5, which is second in the league behind Miami of course :D Nothing much happened during that game, Miami beat them by 20 and Duncan wasn't a big factor. I didn't know that Nestorovic was such a good shot blocker when he blocked 6 of my shots!!!! My next game was against the Atlanta Hawks..... Vengeance!!!!

To cut the story short i beat them by 53, the score was 110-57. 110 is the most i scored in my dynasty, that is in 7 minute quarters. Shaq outscored Atlanta in the first half, 36-32, shaq finished the game with 51 points so he almost beat Atlanta by himself, now that is Vengeance!!!

San Antonio and Atlanta has great looking retro jerseys, unlike Miami which have only 1 retro Jersy. San Antonio have a uniform with Dallas written on it. I sometimes play with my practice uniform because of the lack of retro jerseys Miami has.

I have a pending Trade proposal to San Antonio which is a 3-man trade. I'm trading Dorell Wright, Wesley Person, and Damon Jones for Nicodemus Abraham, Robert Horry, and another Rookie PG.

Nicodemus Abraham is a 6'8 PG and is also one of the player i scouted the previous season. He has a rating of 59 and was a Top 10 pick so i wasn't able to draft him. He fits my plan of creating a very tall team so i'm pursuing him. :D

This is the 3rd time i'm trading for Abraham. I tried trading him for Keeyon Dooling, rated 65, and the Spurs wasn't interested. I was holding back on Wright since he is a 6'7 SG and he has improved greatly with the trainings i bought, but the Spurs had high interest on him so i decided to include him in the trade.

Now, i feel like i don't want the trade to push thru, but there is no way to take back the trade proposal. Oh well.... I'll see what happens when i play again tomorrow. :D

Did i mention that this season's draft strenght is only Average? I'm sticking with my 7'5 center and 7'0 SF prospects. That's why i don't want to trade away my draft picks.

I play on PS2, I can't print screen =). I could use a digicam but the picture has the black lines on it, kinda fuzzy too. By the way, does anybody know why TVs and Monitors has that black lines moving vertically when you look at it from a camera or video cam???? Maybe i should ask the question on Popsci's forum =)

2006 All-Star Weekend.

What a weekend it was for the Miami Heat. The Heat won 3 awards, Dwayne Wade won the Slam Dunk contest, Stephon Parker won the Rookie Challenge, and Shaq won the All-Star MVP.

Slam Dunk Contest
- This is Wade's second time to be invited in the slamdunk contest. He was out in the first round last year and the eventual winner was Jason Richardson. It looked like Wade is going to suffer the same fate this year. Starting the second round with a 48 and a 39, he was out of it until Jumaine Jones scored a 37 on his last dunk and wade got a 50. Lebron James was lighting up the building with three perfect scores in the 2nd round. But Wade without let his good fortune go to waste so he scored a perfect score in the last round 50 50 50! His first dunk was a ball toss from the left side of the court, he took the ball in the air after the bounce and swing the ball around his legs for the dunk! The second dunk was pretty much the same but this time he did it between the legs then reverse slam! The 3rd one was a ball toss to the jumbotron, he took it in the air and did an elbow slam!!! (This is all PC, i don't know how to do any of these things)

- Stephon Parker won the Rookie Challenge All-Star MVP award. He had 24pts, 17rebs, 3blks, 2stls, and 1 assts. Wolf wasn't far behind with 26pts, 4rebs, 2assts, 4stls. Dwayne Wade won the Rookie Challenge MVP last year.

- Shaq took the All-Star MVP award by getting 41pts, 6rebs, 4blks, 1stl, 1assts. He scored 19 straight points to start the game but that's only because nobody else could score on the East Team. I was still down by 7 at that time but Yao Ming was totally no match for Shaq. Garnett won the All-star MVP last year.

- Rasual Butler is 4th in 3pt percentage in the league but he wasnt invited to the 3pt shoot out. I think its because he has only made like 20 3pointers so far.

it takes a lot of pratice to beat computer guys who are like 90s or more. i used a 99 guy and am barely beating ray allen, who's an 80.
i have much to improve, and i got live the 2nd or 3rd day after it came out too

Yeah, i should print this text up and have it bookbind and sell it :D

About that pending trade i left hanging last week, well, the trade went through and i now have a 6'8 PG. I'm using him as a SG for now since Wade is still the starting PG. I am now just $4M over the cap and i think i should be able to re-sign Shaq after this season.

Nicodemus Abraham, hmmmm... a biblical name, I may have the first Israelite in the NBA! :o He's the 26th pick in the 2005 Draft and is rated 59. He's a better slasher to the basket than an outside shooter.

I didn't play any games today, since it is the All-Star break, i'm taking a break myself :D

good write ups ....sad that the PS2 doesnt allow pic uploads etc....cause it hurts your eyes when u gotta read so much.

The title of your dynasty sounds somewhat like somethin a girl says when shes being bucked up.

Anyway keep it up (y)

I played a couple of games today and nothing really amazing happened. The Mavs took me to overtime but i haven't lost in OT so i defeated them. Stephon Parker was rebounding like crazy, pulling down 12 in the first half and finished the game with 16pts and 17rebs. Shaq was the usual player of the game, he was out for a quarter because of an arm injury but still finished with 34pts, 11rebs, 2blks, 1stl, and 5asts.

The next game was against Atlanta and they don't even stand a chance, although they are the only team that has beaten me this season!!! Antoine Walker was shooting all over the place again but nobody else stepped up for them.

Notes:
Wade is averaging 5.25 steals per game and is 1st in the league, the next player behind him is like 3 steals per game behind. He made 14 steals in 1 game and his name is now in the records books. Live 2004 doesn't update the all-time leaders if you break the records. Good thing they changed that this year. He is also averaging 7 assists per game and that is good for 2nd in the league, Jason kidd is averaging 7.5.

Do you guys listen closely to the arena music playing while in a game? I know that the MVP chants is now gone and even the player chants is gone but there's one time when i heard a disney music playing in the arena. I could be dreaming, i was thinking that maybe my nephews were watching a disney movie and that what was i was hearing but nobody was home at that time. I don't know if this has happened to somebody else....

Shaq is still the top MVP candidate, averaging 33.4pts (1st), 10.7rebs (7th), 2.65blks (1st), 2.5asts, and 0.90stls. I am not about to give up on the race and have Garnett steal the award again like he did last year!!!

I did mention that i won the championship last season but when i look at my trophies, the championship trophy is not there. I could have missed saving the settings after i won the championship, what a bummer! Do'h! :D I'll win it again this year so no problem.
