I have the same problem and it is because of the video card which I will be updating more early next year hopefully around the time when the 512mb video cards kick in.

My system was crashin regular, i changed my Gamepad's USB port, im using USB 2.0 now rather than standard USB on motherboard and the game has stopped crashing. Its unlikely this is gonna help anybody else, but it could help eliminate problems.

no he didn't. he has no video card. what he's using is the onboard graphics controller that comes with his motherboard. those are normally not used to play 3d games, especially those which put a lot of load to your machine. i suggest you buy a new video card. a cheap one like geforce 4mx is enough.

I agree. The Intel Entreme integrated GPUs are a joke. The Extreme 2 is worst than a Rad 7000. You should really look to invest in an independent GPU.

I dunno if mine is the same problem as him, but I really need help too.

I just got 2005, and whenever I start the game, a error messaage pops up, saying that

"nbalive2005 has generated an error and needs to be restarted. An error log is being created."

Can someone help me with this? I have Windows 2000 with a nVidia 32 megabytes video card.

Thanks

Well, I just installed my windows xp pro, and I re-installed the game. Now I'm having the exact same problem as the previous guy is. (ie. the guy with the screenshots.)

So if someone can help both of us, it would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I dun think it's my video card becaues the other guy has a high-end computer, and he's having the same problem.

crash problem

Postby wicked waway on Sat Nov 20, 2004 1:19 am

xppro sp1
athlon xp 2600 ( barton, 1921mhz, 128 kb L1 cache, 512kb L2 cache)
nforce2ultra 400 motherboard
512mb ddr400 (geil)
radeon 9600xt 128 mb

i can play live even with 4x anti aliasing and 8x anisotropic but even with these turned off, the game sumtyms crshes to desktop, what could be the problem? i have a catalyst version 4.9 and its whql.
one thing tho, i installed live with my older card, a geforce fx 5200, i had no problems back then, its only when i upgraded toradeon, though i wouldnt consider returning to my old card since the new one runs like a dream on the other games i play.. waht could be the problem?

i have had massive probs with this game freezing/crashing too. :x i have done everything under the sun including upgrading from my nvidia geforce 2 mx/400 (64MB) to a ati radeon 9600 (256MB). still the same problems. i have done fresh installs of the game, turned down settings etc etc. i even had my pc 'health checked' at a pc shop which got rid of all the spyware and shit which was on it. still probs. the weird part is the game used to run fine a few weeks back with my old nvidia card even. another weird thing was it ran fine in the pc shop. but i think i have a solution. i am not sure and havent tested it properly yet but i think that this game for some reason causes more vid card heating than others - dont ask me why? the weather here has gotten heaps hotter recently, (+30C every day) and so has my house. i think the vid card gets overheated and then just 'trips out'. i am going to relocate the box to a cooler spot maybe get one of those little exhaust fans you put in the box to help keep the card cooler. anyways this might help some of you otehr guys with good vid cards but still getting game freezes like me. :o :)
