As EG already mentioned, alot of users of the NLSC frequent dotorg & in fact enjoy visiting (why else would we visit)...personally, I like almost every person on the staff, they are nice to me despite me being "full of shit", you're even nice from time to time.

But the constant bickering everytime a new feature is implemented to the NLSC has got to stop, it doesn't help the community in any way & all it creates are more "incidents" we remember to bring up for the next time.

The point of my rant was not to prevent the NLSC from having new features or "winge" about that.. but to point out that once again they were just doing the same thing that nbalive.org was doing.. but I have already discussed this with the people that matter.. and we have agreed on some points and dissagreed on others.. and that is fine.. I have delt with it.. I have decided to just take a step forward and change what nbalive.org was doing and keep it different.. besides I think overall what the NLSC will be better and nice feature for the community.. as I have told Matthew.. his idea is a really good one.. and he told me he understood my gripe and we are over it.. why the hell you feel the need to make this post Jackal other than to try and create some sort of rivalry I don't know..

Hell, the 2 sites are probably as different as can be. If I said Jackal sucks dick here, some mod (other than a few of the new ones) would warn me and lock the thread but I feel if I said it at .org it would get moved to the forum games/spam threads sections and the mods would jump in and be like "Hell yeah, flame war!", and maybe drop a few insults themselves.

Let's just leave the sites the way they are, I mean it is so damn impossible now it seems. If one forum gets a new mod, they coppied it from the other forum. I like the sites fine, they seem to be 2 different worlds. It's just that NLSC is superior to .org for now. NLSC is like the older brother. .org is cool, but has less members and is less active. Just because two websites with the SAME TOPIC do similar things does not mean the idea was stolen. The goal of these sites is basically exactly the same, so OF COURSE there will be similarities, i'm surprised they aren't MORE similar. thousands of websites use the phpbb2 (forum) system, and install the same mods to it. does that mean they are stealing it from another site? no- it's a mod that is made available to the public, and if it's useful to them, they'll use it.

Picks them up? nbalive.org offers hosting for quality patchers and full mods.. that is the main purpose of the site.. it is the main differentiation between NLSC and .org.. NLSC doesn't host patches.. (except the NLSC roster etc..) so how is .org picking them up?

I don't recall a time you ever approached me with ideas for projects, nor an email about blocking you on MSN. I did block some people for a time because I was getting uncivil messages and frankly, when I come online to talk to people and to do things with the NLSC, I don't want to deal with that.

As for me being "anti nbalive.org"...you might notice that pretty much every time you've had bandwidth problems in the past I've left the thread open (unless it's a superfluous one) and in most cases answered the question with whatever information I had. When the Street project for NBA Live 2003 was released I posted an announcement on the NLSC's main page with a link to nbalive.org as a show of good faith, because it was an awesome add-on.

As Matthew pointed out in the other thread, any questions about the NLSC (especially during our downtime) were locked with a link to google.com posted. I didn't see those threads myself as I haven't visited the nbalive.org forum in some time, but I see no reason for Matthew to lie about that.

Anyway, I know you will simply respond to this and say that I am full of shit and this is just more lies. If that's what you believe, then that's what you believe. But I don't want to continue discussing this if you're not going to be civil, mature and reasonable.

Where do I mention a rivalry in my post? I asked you to stop bitching everytime the NLSC tries to introduce a new idea to their website. Everytime there’s a new idea, it’s been ripped off of dotorg. For fuck’s sake, you’re not the world leader in NBA Live websites. It’s a game, there is only so much you can do with it, the most logical would be to write a review about past games. Or assemble a team of patchers. Heaven forbid the NLSC decided to do that, they’d be copying the great David & his unique idea’s. As for the rest of this thread and situation: If people take it personal, then they shouldn't. This should be about the fucking community. We should never call anyone scum. I never called Ben scum when he changed my password consistantly (although I did call him alot of other names.. but thats in the past), no one should feel intimidated by the authority figures within the community. Lets have a look at what both sites stand for: The NBA Live fanbase. Emphasis on fanbase. We're all here as fans of the series to enjoy the game. Not to play politics. Not to pass prejiduce. I don't recall a time you ever approached me with ideas for projects, nor an email about blocking you on MSN. I did block some people for a time because I was getting uncivil messages and frankly, when I come online to talk to people and to do things with the NLSC, I don't want to deal with that.

Ok I feel like telling a story... everyone pull up a nice comfty chair..

Well it was a few years ago so let me refresh you memory.. In early 2002 I was looking for a host for an NBL mod I and some others were working on. I asked you if the NLSC could host it. You told me that the "NLSC does not host patches but we can add a link to your patch in our patches database".. etc etc.. So I continued to look for a host.. I found a site called "NBA Live Stuff" which had been started up by Ben (everyone who matters knows Ben dont they? ).. He offered to host the NBL patch and he continued to develop the NBA Live Stuff website. He joined up with "NBA Live World" which was run by Dmitri and they formed nbalive.org.

Meanwhile I was just doing the patching for the NBL mod for NBA Live 2001 and getting it hosted on nbalive.org.. even though it wasn't that popular I decided to do the mod again for NBA Live 2003. As the nbalive.org site grew I became interested in helping out Ben and Dmit and Tony. Who had joined also to work on graphics and get his patches hosted. As the site became bigger it ran into trouble with hosting limits etc.. I loved what nbalive.org was doing for the community and I didn't want to see it die. So I put money forward for a host for nbalive.org so it could continue and people could get hosting for their quality patches that they spend so much time on. Because of this Ben (or benji and I called him and he adopted like a fish to water) steped down and put me in charge of nbalive.org. He saw I was enthusiastic about the game (which he had began to not be so enthusiastic about) and wanted to do lots of things to make the community better.

When I first became in charge of nbalive.org I wanted to register at NLSC with my brand new @nbalive.org email address. But I couldn't I found out that nbalive.org email addresses had been BANNED on NLSC.. but benji kindly resolved the issue for me. I didn't know why the emails were blocked but benji told me it was because the NLSC had some qualms with dotorg.. surely not I thought.. why would they be "anti-nbalive.org"?

In the meantime I had PM'd Andrew about working together on the wishlist for NBA Live 2004.. I can't access these PM's now because my old account has since been deleted (we will get to that later).. but from what I recall Andrew said great he could use the help etc.. etc.. but when I sent him an email regarding my ideas and he saw it was from an @nbalive.org he suddenly started to ignore me and blocked me on MSN? I emailed him a few times ... nothing.. I got frustrated and upset.. (as I think most people would) I then made a post on NLSC that flamed Andrew for ignoring/blocking me .. I cant find that post (probably been deleted) but I admit I was a bit harsh.. I was angry .. he was ignoring my emails/blocked me on MSN.. how else was I supposed to get a response.. never got a proper one to this day.. and the only conclusion I can come to is that Andrew treated me the way he did because I was a member of nbalive.org. After that I was banned and my old account was deleted. Which was fine.. I got angry and I admit I really hated NLSC at that poinmt in time.. all I was trying to do was team together to make the community better and all I got was hostility

I decided not to visit the NLSC anymore and went about making nbalive.org better. Benji, Dmit, Tony and I got together and worked hard making nbalive.org better. We were stuggling managing the bandwidth because the site was so popular and we experience a lot of downtime. I heard that people at NLSC were calling the site "nbadead.org" etc.. etc.. I was upset as I didn't know why there was so much hostility from the NLSC towards nbalive.org. But I worked hard and found a new server and now we are ok.. yay! .. anyway I never posted here for a while till I recieved a link to NLSC from someone.. I think it was Repole.. http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15550 .. I decided to express my opinion that NLSC should try to be original. That is all. But the thread was locked and it was apparently my fault that NLSC didn't have the wonderfull rotating banners .. if you read all I said was they should be original.. the NLSC could have taken that onboard and done it in an original way and really surprised the community.. but no.. the evil David from nbalive.org was stopping them from doing it? Whatever..

So that is my NLSC drama story.. fun hey.. I guess I am not welcome here.. again.. for no other reason than I am from nbalive.org.. kinda sad isn't it.. all I want, like Matthew, is to make the best community we can make

Now the most recent post I made was because nbalive.org was going to do a series on the history of NBA Live and I see NLSC doing exactly the same thing. I spoke my mind.. and I discussed it with Matthew but again it was blown out to some sort of 'rivalty' by certain people... whatever.. I was over it before Jackal even made this post.. I changed what nbalive.org was doing to try something different .. you know cause there are no original ideas out there..

As for Jackals and others comments.. well some people don't deserve a response..

but just to remind people of how Jackal loves to attack people it wasn't that long ago that he did exactly the same thing to Andrew and attacked Andrew.. ofcourse those threads have been deleted. I would hope the same happens to this thread... Jackal IS the scum of the community..

The thread has not been locked because in general the NLSC mods have tried to be more lenient, and have been so over the last few months.
