ok listen, 2003 was, and dont even try to argue with me on this, MORE FUN, FASTER GAMEPLAY, SICKER DUNKS, MORE CROWD INVOLVEMENT, BETTER COMMENTARY, BETTER MUSIC, LOTS OF FAST BREAKS, BETTER GRAPHICS, AND YOU CAN TELL WHICH PLAYERS ARE WHICH. nba live 05 blows compared to 2003. now yeah it doesnt have all star weekend and the freestyle challenges (which u people dont play) but still. GRAPHCIS AND EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WAY BETTER.

IF you want to play an arcade game by all means 2003 is good, however if you want to play a realstic basketball game then 2004 and 2005 are a hundred times better then 03.

In my opinion 03 sucks simple as that.

nba live 2003 was the worse game ever i have it for ps2 and im dissapointed i even wanted that game for xmas that time. and as people here say live 03= arcadey 04-05 real sims.

yeah but most of u play on galaxy cam. what u need to do is put it on baseline low and zoom it all the way in. then when u go in for a dunk it zooms in and looks cool kinda like the camera is shaking and the crowd gets into it when u go in for a dunk. in 2004 and 2005 its SO BORING!!!!!

It gets boring because dunks in 2003 happen all the time, often you get a handful of the same kind of dunks. I'd prefer a nice flow of awesome passing to earn my dunk rather than be able to dunk from the free throw line anytime I want to. Too bad the gameflow is terrible in Live 2005, but it has potential... just gotta wait till 2006.

the computer mixes up fast breaks with layups and with threes. it's kinda nice, in my opinion.


2005 is by far the best game in the series, i'd say.

I meant gameflow for the user. The passing is very slow, and everytime you recieve a pass, the player momentarily pauses. If you have a wide open player A, chances are, that wide open player A won't be wide open anymore when player B is making a slow pass.

Maybe I should download Fraps to make my point.

I have to agree with cyanide on that one. There is a problem with the passing in this game, its is slow and its not fun when u have the chance of swinging the ball along the three point line and the players pause when they get the ball.

As for 2003 i say it was a better game than 2005 considerng the dunks and excitment. I still patch for live 03 but i would still prefer 05 over it.

Both these games have pros and cons, but the looks of it 2005 is much better than 2003.

I traded in my nintendo 64 and nba live 2000 to get a playstation and nba live 2003.....and was PISSED OFF. live 2000 was great, and live 2003 sucked donkey balls. After I wasted my nintendo 64 to get the PS and live 2003, I went back to playing Live 98 on super nintendo. That's MY opinion. (In addition, I got the demo for NBA Live 2003 for PC recently, and OMG what a bunch of terds.)

2001 and 2003 were the worst lives i think.

as far as passing, i dont consider it to be too slow. i actually can swing the ball around to an open guy quite often.


on outlet passes, the players often have to stop and turn, but not always. this doesn't bug me at all

the fast breaks on 2005 are so thrilling! i can actually be (in my dynasty) running up the floor with jefferson, toss it to ben gordon while still running, and there is actually a little animation in which gordon catches the ball and readjusts his step to get ready to jam. maybe it is just a coincidence in the programming, but it really is awesome. this has happened 3 or 4 times now, and i love it! i don't run fraps usually, otherwise i would put it on replay and take video of it.

Um.....ok I don't have 2003 sitting in front of me, so I guess I can't directly argue that the graphics aren't better even if you zoom in...but the rest of this:

has nothing to do with you zooming in. there's more fast breaks when you play on baseline low and zoom in? wow!

and i don't know what your problem is, but i can tell my players apart perfectly playing on press box in NBA Live 2005.

bestclubowner, you have shown no support to back up your claims as of yet. the only thing you're doing is stating that the game is more fun and everyone who thinks it's not is wrong. wait a minute, have you ever heard of an opinion? in your opinion 2003 is better, definately. so go post THERE instead of here if you want to promote 2003.
2005, in MY OPINION, is the best basketball game on the market. it is the most realistic, and the most fun because of its realism. and just because sometimes the fastbreaks dont work it makes it so much more fun, at least for me, because it makes it that much more chalenging to establish my inside-outside game. in previous versions, i could simply spin around the defender on fastbreaks if they caught up. i can't do that anymore, which is GREAT i think.


until you provide some valid claims, i dont think many people are going to listen to you.
