what's your record most consecutive tip-in attempts?

i hardly ever do tip-ins just because i'm so use to just grabbing the ball. i have been destroyed on the boards in one of my leagues. The guy ended up with 30boards with samuel dalembert. 24 of his rebounds were offensive and as a team he had 53 offensive rebounds and a total of 82 rebounds. Of course i won and so far the people who have used it on me have lost but its sometimes frustrating when they are just tippin away and you cannt seem to get the ball.

based on experience it's much easier to tip-in than to rebound (making the tip in is another thing though). however after a tip-in attempt and it misses, the chances of making another tip-in decrease (or at least, it should decrease). what's good about tip-ins is that u not only take a chance on an easy 2, but you also pump up the stat sheets with rebounds! and you don't get stripped either. :)

12

12 tip ins is indeed possible. I was unable to make it but I got up to 9. See, even if you are far from the rim, the player follows the ball wherever it is (of course, it has to be in a reachable position) so if you have a good inside position, there is a strong chance of tipping it in.

Now, if you want to tip in and make it, the best way is to hold the tip in button and release it when you have it fully. Sort of like when you shoot a jumper, you press and hold until you get to the top of the shot before you release it.

and additionally, players can tip-in even if he is on his way down (i've done this lots of times using charlie ward (yes, charlie ward) over taller defenders)... and even if the basket is going to be good, you can still try to tip it in... still no offensive goaltending in the game.

12 is not a joke.. i believe in that.. Coz i got 17 consecutive rebounds with Marcus Camby.. First, he only had 2 rebounds... then it happened.. i think it went in about a minute :D Then I check the stats (in the pause menu coz i know he'll be the rebounding leader) and was surprised he already had 19 rebounds in the 1st quarter!! OMG

Btw, I am playing Superstar mode.

Yea
But I just noticed this
If he had 12 tip backs thats 12 shots right?
How did he make 2 shots if he had 12 straight in a row with the tip backs? :?

it scks that yao ming has a hard time doing tip ins. it happened to me twice that he tipped in over the top of the backboard... with shorter guys such as amare stoudemire i was able to do 6-8 consecutive tip-in attempts, but with yao i managed only 2!
