thanks for the comments, guys....i'll be finishing up the 1-on-1 challenge tonight, and then FINALLY getting back to actually playing games.

quick question: does anyone know where i could host some videos? i have fraps and have been experimenting with making videos with it, and would like to be able to post game highlights in video format, in addition to the normal pic/text recap. lemme know, thanks.

As expected, Shaq beat out the short, white rookie Joshua Carr to advance to the Finals of the Cingular 1-on-1 Challenge, the final event of All-Star Weekend 2004-2005. Carr did put up a noble effort, however, scoring 6 points, and gathering 4 steals. Shaq put up 12 blocks in the game, most of which are shown in the complete screenshot gallery available for viewing here:
http://photobucket.com/albums/v515/joshuamc172/20041on1round2/

Full coverage on the website will come later today, as well as the final round of the Cingular 1-on-1 Challenge- Shaquille O'Neal vs. Ben Gordon.

If everyone could let me know if you think I should include the 1-on-1 Challenge in next year's allstar weekend, please let me know. I value your input.

thanks cklitsie.
Note to everyone, please don't say I've made too many trades. I know I set out to not really make any trades, but I've only made three- and I don't really count the Alonzo Mourning trade, because I was going with the storyline of the Dynasty and dumping his salary, essentially. :D The website (http://free.hostultra.com/~donatelloforpres/nets.htm )WILL be updated tonight, as soon as I get my lazy ass to it.

BEN GORDON WINS 1-ON-1 CHALLENGE, AND IS THEN TRADED TO NETS!

Image

Shortly after a convincing victory over Shaquille O'Neal in the Cingular Wireless 1-on-1 Challenge (photo gallery here- http://photobucket.com/albums/v515/joshuamc172/20041on1round3/), Ben Gordon recieved a phone call notifying him that the Bulls had recieved an offer from the New Jersey Nets that they could not refuse. The Nets offered up all-star point guard Jason Kidd and Power Forward Brandon Hunter for Gordon, and agreed to take on the bulk salary of Antonio Davis, which the Bulls had been trying to rid themselves of for quite some time. Davis is expected to win the battle for the starting center position over Scot Pollard and DJ Mbenga.

Click http://photobucket.com/albums/v515/joshuamc172/netsplayers/ to see Gordon and Davis at their first Nets practice.

Jason Kidd will now become half of one of the best backcourts in the league, teamed with Kirk Hinrich.

Thanks! I really like the trade. I did get my first game with my new guys done last night, but I got really sleepy- it WAS 2:30 am, and I set up a new forum last night, too..... ...so I'll get it up tonight, as well as the stuff on the site I've kind of been slacking on- I still haven't really finished the all-star section.

I can tell you that Ben Gordon is definitely a great addition to my team. (Y)- I plan on keeping him locked up for his career.

Gordon Pours in 25, but Nets fall short in Portland

In his first game with the Nets, Ben Gordon proved that he was worth giving up Jason Kidd. The rookie SG, fresh of blazing his way through All-Star weekend, stepped into the starting lineup, and threw down 25 points, also adding 3 rebounds and 2 assists- but it wasn't enough to give the nets the win.

Gordon: "I really wanted to come in and make a difference. We were so close- only losing by three points, I'm proud to be a part of this team, and hopefully a part of this team's future."

Antonio Davis also played his first game in a Jersey uniform, adding 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks, in a very solid peformance. Davis started the game at center, but played some forward as well. Nikoloz Tskitishvili continues his strong play- with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Joshua Carr added 14 points and 7 assists. Richard Jefferson had a strong game as well, only scoring 13, but adding 8 rebounds. With strong team stats like this, it's hard to believe the Nets didn't pull out a win on the road.

Note to fans of my Dynasty, and any Moderators who happen to read this--I've decided to go ahead and do my game recaps this way instead of just having one post for the newest game. There are several posts up there near the top that say 'If a mod could delete this post....', if that is possible, I would appreciate it. Thanks. (Y)

Website update will probably be up in 15 minutes or so (working on it now). I added a 'Last Website Update' post up there, with the date/time of the most recent website update, so you don't have to actually go to the site and dig around to see if there is an update somewhere (Y).

Also- a very special "THANK YOU" to everyone for all the comments and compliments, I really am trying to make this thing enjoyable for everyone- and I'm really loving it. This is tons of fun. Thank you for OVER 1000 VIEWS!!!! My dynasty last year barely made it to 700 views. Thanks so much guys, and I'm really impressed by all of your dynasties! Rock on....and keep the comments/suggestions/and of course compliments coming :P

Yeah a very good trade, plus Davis aint a liability, he is very effective on the offensive boards and hes got a nice touch round the basket, defense is a bit of and issue though but nothing shocking.

I'm really liking this one dude, your leading the pack so far in the dynasty thread :D Keep it up (Y)

FIRE THE GM! FIRE THE GM! FIRE THE GM! :D

C'mon now, Kidd for Gordon and Davis!?! You could have atleast got another young'n back. You should have tried to get Hinrich also. Kidd is worth that much. I know Gordon is/will be good but that is a crazy trade. Definitely a steal for the Bulls.

Nets drop fourth in a row...but team is hopeful

New Jersey never led in this game- they made a few small runs to pull within four, but when the other team starts on a 22-6 run, and your "star" players can't get a rythm going, it's tough to fight back. New Jersey lost to San Antonio 79-66 today, at home in East Rutherford.

Coach Frank: "This was a tough loss.....the Portland game was a heartbreaker, only losing by three. But at least that game was close. We played our hearts out today (against the Spurs), but we just flat out lost. It's really tough to know you did your best and still got your ass kicked, essentially.....San Antonio was simply the better team- and that is something that's hard to take easily. But we're not going to get our hopes down- we know that we are a relatively new team with our recent trades...and we are still in 4th in the East....so we'll just look to the future rather than the past, and try to move past this embarrassing defeat on our home court."

The similarity of these pictures raises some interesting comparisons......

NETS WIN DOUBLE OVERTIME THRILLER!

It took them two overtimes and 134 points to do it, but the Nets finally ended their losing streak, winning 134-122 at home against Toronto. Ben Gordon was HUGE with 43 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Richard Jefferson added 24, Joshua Carr 22.

ImageImage

(By the way, I don't know how Rice got into the starting lineup...the CPU seems to enjoy re-ordering my roster on it's own- but he played very well, so I guess it was fate  )

I know my website hasn't been updated in a while- that will happen tonight. I don't have much time on the weekends to use the computer, so I've used what time I have to get these games played- I'm anxious to see how we can push into the playoffs.

I've been scouting some upcoming free agents, and two in particular have caught my eye. I will give everything I can to get Andrei Kirilenko signed this offseason- though I get the feeling he will resign with Utah (as players always seem to do when I've simmed through seasons on gamecube), and also Yuta Tabuse from Phoenix- though the rookie I have been scouting is very similar to Tabuse, that will be a tough call. I very much plan on building around Ben Gordon and Joshua Carr. I'm about 99% sure I want to keep Richard Jefferson around for the long haul, and I would love to add AK47 to my core of players.

I've made the decision to go ahead and sign a free agent big man- because our size is really what's hurting us. I made another offer to Karl Malone, but just couldn't get him to sign for the veteran minimum, so I've signed Lawrence Funderburke at the minimum for the rest of the season. He is a solid rebounder and has very high shot blocking points.
