The 2025 off-season and draft

Postby mp3 on Mon Jun 23, 2025 3:31 am

We have already see the Grizzlies teade Desmond Bane for Cole Anthony and KCP plus a ton of picks.

Today the Suns traded KD to the Rockets for Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and the number 10 draft pick in the up and coming draft, the Suns are said to be looking to reroute Green to another team in a separate deal so doesn't look like Jalen will be a member of the Suns but this is the nba and the Suns love to play 3 guards who play the same position and like the say in the nba, If it doesn't work the first 2 or 3 times keep on trying it so who knows

Funny to think that Durant, Westbrook, and Harden will have all ended up playing for the Rockets.

Yeah Houston has changed it up a fair few times now haven't they, I still don't think the Rockets win many games with Durant it's kind of getting old now where KD has been traded too and straight away people talk about championships

I definitely have my doubts about it working all out all that well, especially if they let KD play GM again. Not that he hasn't had a Hall of Fame career, but he hasn't enjoyed much success since leaving the Warriors, and the moves he's pushed his new teams to make haven't panned out at all. KD, Booker, and Beal is a pretty good trio in video games, but it's no surprise they didn't work in real life.

The Boston Celtics have traded Jrue Holiday to the Blazers for Anfernee Simons.

I like this deal for both teams especially the Blazers they got a vet who can guide Scoot and help them compete

Funnily enough, the Blazers traded Jrue to the Celtics in the first place, after acquiring him in the Lillard trade in 2023. With Tatum out for the foreseeable future, I'm guessing the Celtics are willing to roll the dice on a slight revamp with Brown leading a new-look lineup.

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk, and a future second round pick to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey and the No. 40 pick.

Not sure that'll end up moving the needle for either team, but 'tis the season to swap players who don't fit into your future plans, I suppose!

Hawks Acquire Kristaps Porzingis In Three-Team Trade With Celtics, Nets

The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to acquire Kristaps Porzingis from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade also involving the Brooklyn Nets. The Hawks will also acquire a second round pick, while the Nets will receive Terance Mann and the No. 22 pick via Atlanta.

The Celtics will acquire Georges Niang and a 2031 second round pick originating from the Cleveland Cavaliers as they have now unloaded close to $30 million off their payroll over the past two days and are out of the second apron. The Celtics were expected to shed salary this offseason regardless, but Jayson Tatum's Achilles tear could have expedited their plans.

Since the Celtics are blowing it up I wouldn't mind the knicks picking up Al Horford for next season.

The nba draft is tonight and I saw shams said "don't sleep"

Because of the injuries to some major stars, I'm hearing so-called sports radio "experts" here in NYC saying the East will be wide open for the Knicks. We don't even have a coach yet.

Don't know about the Durant trade to Houston. What does he have, a one to two year window left, plus will he last the whole season injury-free?

I guess Boston's mailing it in next season with no Tatum and a new owner who wants to cut payroll. At least they have their championship.
