Hello. Thank you. I'm glad you appreciated my work. I wanted to ask if you could teach me how to make cyberfaces of players? I want to create a few dunkers: SmooveUkraine and Millera.

kndesign, Yeah, that's one skill I never mastered and always wanted to learn. There are a few tutorials on YouTube but I believe they're in Philipino language and they're a bit hard to follow. There are a few as well on the tutorials section here but I found them a bit hard to understand. Might be time for a new try.

I'm watching this video right now. It doesn't look difficult. I need to try it! How much can you put off for later? :)

Here is another video about cyberface for nba2k14.

From my understanding, there's 2 parts to this.
1- Texture
2 - 3D Model

1 - The texture part is basically pasting a photo into an already existing cyberface texture and matching the eyes, mouth, etc, as best as you can. Then you need to edit the colors, which can get tricky and time consuming, but altogether it's a simple enough task.
2 - I have never worked with Blender, so I'd have to try it first and see how hard and complex it is.

I'm about to have a son, so I'm definitely home but I have no idea of how much time I'll have to work on this.

Here's another video. Watch it, maybe it will help you.
You need to have other programs: 3DM4.83(3DM Tool) and Blender (https://www.blender.org/download/).

AND FOR PHOTOSHOP, NVIDIA Texture Tools Exporter:

Let's figure this out together...

KeenTools Blender Pack is a set of powerful tools for Blender used in VFX, tracking, and 3D modeling. The 2025.1.0 version (released on February 13, 2025) includes three main tools:

GeoTracker
A tool for 3D object tracking directly inside Blender.

It allows you to track the motion of objects in a video and automatically create animation for the camera or object.

Useful for VFX: for example, placing a 3D object in a video so it "moves" together with a car or a person’s head.

FaceBuilder
A tool for creating a 3D model of a face from photographs (or video frames).

You just load photos (frontal, left, right, etc.), and it helps you accurately build the face shape.

Commonly used in VFX, games, or even 3D printing.

FaceTracker
A tool for facial motion tracking in video.

It tracks the movements of facial features (eyes, mouth, eyebrows, etc.) and allows you to transfer those movements to a 3D model.

Very handy for creating facial animation, syncing expressions, or producing lifelike facial performance.

Save files using 3DM4.83.
47F01028.N2KM is a 3D face of LeBron James.
Now we need to convert the file from the .N2KM extension to .obj (for Blender).

What you need to do:
To open the file 47F01028.N2KM in Blender, you need to:
First convert .n2km → .obj or .fbx

There are two options for that:

Option A: Using 3DS Max + Plugin • Install 3DS Max 2010–2012 • Download the n2km Import Script • Import the .n2km file • Export it as .obj • Open the .obj file in Blender

Option B: Using a converter (unofficial tool) • There are third-party utilities, like NBA 2K Face Export Tool • I can find a working version for you and send instructions

You need one of three options:
1) 3DS Max + n2km Importer (the most reliable)
• You can open and fully edit the model.
• a version of 3DS Max (you specifically need 2010–2012),
• a script for importing .n2km files.

2) Third-party converter (.n2km → .obj)
• For example: NBA 2K Export Tool, n2km2obj (older versions are circulating among modders).
• It's not perfect, but it allows you to extract the geometry.

3) Ready .obj file

:| Now we need to find the 3DS Max 2012 Portable program.

If you install 3DS Max 2022 — what will happen?
(N) Bad news:

The n2km_import.ms script does not work in newer versions of 3DS Max (after 2012–2014).

The script was originally written for the old 3DS Max 2010–2012 API.

The new version of the program changed the core and the MAXScript API, causing old scripts to either not run at all or break during import.

In other words:

You physically won't be able to import .n2km files through 3DS Max 2022.

The script will either throw errors or simply do nothing.

Why is that?

The .n2km format is old and is only supported by modified scripts for older versions.

Autodesk drastically changed scripting and scene structure in 3DS Max after 2016.

 We need a script:
n2km_import.ms
What is it?
This is a special script for 3DS Max 2010–2012.

Its task:
Open a file with the extension .n2km (this is the NBA 2K14 cyberface).

Without it, 3DS Max doesn't understand what .n2km is.

How it works:
You start 3DS Max 2012 Portable.

Select the menu:
MAXScript → Run Script.

Point to the n2km_import.ms script.

A new command appears for you - "Import .n2km file".

You open your file 47F01028.N2KM.

Then export to .obj.

Then you work in Blender.

 OPTION 2 — Fast: Third-party converter
If you don't want to mess with 3DS Max:

You can find NBA 2K Face Export Tool or n2km2obj — these are small programs that directly convert .n2km to .obj.

But:

Sometimes the conversion is incomplete (UV-scans, textures are lost).

The model may look a bit "gnawed", you will have to clean it up manually in Blender.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is NBA 2K Face Export Tool?
This is an alternative program that can:
Open .n2km files (cyberfaces of NBA 2K14, 2K15, etc.).
Convert them immediately to .obj (without 3DS Max).
Made by fans for modders.
Very simple: a small window where you select .n2km, press a button - and you get .obj.

Advantages:
No need to install 3DS Max.
Everything is very fast: selected → converted → imported into Blender.

Cons:
Often extracts only geometry without textures.
Minor bugs are possible (for example, broken UV coordinates or incorrect model position).

I found a third option. A plugin for Blender to work with .n2km
phpBB [video]

Blender Addon: https://www.mediafire.com/file/57e8pd2d ... r_2.79.zip

Image

What needs to be done:

1. Install Blender 2.79
This plugin only works with the older version of Blender — 2.79.

If you have a newer Blender (2.8, 2.9, 3.0, 4.0), this addon will not work there.

You can officially download Blender 2.79 here:

Blender 2.79 Download (official)

(Download the Blender 2.79b version — it’s the stable release)

2. Install the plugin in Blender
Open Blender 2.79.

Go to File → User Preferences → Add-ons → Install from File.

Select your archive N2KM Import-Export Script for 2.79.zip or the file io_n2km.py.

In the list, find the addon N2KM Import-Export and check the box (Y) to enable it.

3. Import a .n2km file
After activating the plugin, a new option will appear:
File → Import → NBA 2K (.n2km)

Select your file 47F01028.N2KM and import it directly into Blender!

What should I do? I can't export in the 47F01028.N2KM format, so that I can then use the 3DM4.83 program to add the 3D face I created.
IndexError: bpy_prop_collection[index]: index 0 out of range, size 0
Error, my new file is not imported by 3DM4.83. It says error.

I did everything. I was able to open the 47F01028.N2KM file. But now I don't know what to do next. I can't import the file through the 3DM 4.83 program to replace James' cyberface in png1013.iff.
