NBA2K25 File Explorer V2.0 | + Model Viewer | 2024-10-20

This tool is used for exploring & searching & exporting NBA2K25 resource files

Instructions:

• You can place this exe file anywhere. The first time you run it, select or drag & drop the game root directory or game exe into the application to open an NBA2K game directory.
• After selecting files, right-click to export them. In the settings, you can set export path preferences and export method.
• NBA2K25 file structures have changed significantly, so almost all files need to be transcoded, and IFF files are dynamically built into zip-format IFF during export. Exporting IFFs for previewing is sometimes slow, so I developed built-in viewers that allow you to quickly view files without exporting them.
• Compared to the 2K24 file explorer, the user experience of the file list has been improved, searching has been refactored, and mouse dragging selection has been added.
• You can use Simple Mode to export files not listed in the manifest, but you need to know the full filename, such as some wav files (BTW, the game's official mods folder doesn't support loading wav files).
• The Utilities include TLD to DDS, Binary metadata to plain text JSON, and a Hash Generator (which helps you quickly update file names and txtr/scne in iff files, e.g., in the file name face_color_o.63b97fbfa62967c6.tld, the 63b97fbfa62967c6 part is the hash).

Note: When you using the default export method to export IFF files like cyberfaces, the related gz model files and tld texture files in the shared folder will also be packaged into the IFF (so you don't need to export gz files manually). Since the exported files are transcoded instead of the original undecoded files, the gz extension is changed to bin, just as tld is changed to dds. Therefore, you can ignore the gz/bin and tld/dds file extensions after exporting the files using the default export method (Complete Transcoding (Pack Shared Files)). The game can load them perfectly.

2. Optimized the performance of decoding IFF files in the built-in viewer. Arena files can now be opened within 1 second.

2. Fixed an issue where few files were missing when exporting IFF files, such as the MatrixWeightsBuffer file in cyberfaces.

1. Added a built-in model viewer, allowing you to preview almost all models in the explorer. The new model viewer will be used to preview SCNE files.
2. Other bug fixes and code optimizations.

1. Fixed an issue where FXAA anti-aliasing became ineffective after changing the viewport size in the model viewer.

i think we need hook and his nba2k tools for dat. i could be wrong doe.

How to edit roster? Like in 2k24 tools you could edit your MyPlayer to be 99 ovr until the game detects that its not true, but your player would be 99 ovr in game unless u go try to upgrade attributes. can you do that with this tool? 2k24 tools did not require the hook.

Is it possible to edit rosters and draft classes with this tool? I just want to add headshots and portraits and players stats histories. Maybe change courts and jerseys, shoes, signatures.. Last time I did this was in 2k23 tool. This tool I just dont get it how.'I don't even know how to import roster or draft class file in this tool. Thx

looyh just confirmed its unlikely that he releases any other tools this year. its so sad its kinda one of the main rzns i got 2k25, i had so much fun tweaking my 2k using the tool

Is it possible to allow the export of a SCNE file and the associated files in a future update? I believe you have done this with previous games? I am wanting to swap a basket file btw arenas.
